I'm feel good about Relf combination with one of our other QB's

Newton might be all world...but honestly i got to where i didnt really care anymore....i am so proud of what mullen did last year with a midget and tight end playing qb combination....we were actually competitive and fun to watch....if he can coach those two above their potential and use them to their strengths and hide their weeknesses like he did...i feel good about what ever qb's we get under this guy.....i really hope mullen wants to stick around starkville for a long time</p>

I don't know why- but I really like Chris Relf for some reason. And this was even before he went off in the Egg Bowl.

I don't doubt that he's hitting port-a-potties in practice, and I don't even necessarily want him to be the starter, but he has value. He may only know six plays, but let's face it, as a team we run those six plays really, really well. I know he has a scattershot arm, but if he can continue to improve with Mullen's coaching, he could be pretty decent as a role player.

i'm with you, i don't want to see him as a starter...but i'd love to see him used like he was this year all the way through his senior year.....the concern i have is that if he is only a role player, i could see him quitting football before his eligibility runs out....i hope not, because if he's used like he was this year, as a backup qb role player....he will be a huge crowd favorite and my personal favorite msu player on the team during his career.

...but he should only play in spots. If we have to rely on Relf to get most of the snaps, we are in trouble.

But I could see him playing more than last year just because Tyler will be so green. And in some games if he gets on a roll as in the Egg Bowl, he might get a lot of playing time. Time will tell.
