If we’re talking very large data centers, then in many cases, power plants are being built to meet the demand, so production is increasing through that. And the data center is paying a rate to support the cost of that fuel (plus other costs in the rate).
If there self sufficient that's great. But the vast majority are not. Even if they are using their own generation plant, gas let's say, then they are increasing demand, thus increasing costs associated with natural gas that fuel existing power plants.

A single hyperscale data centers can consume the same amount of electricity as 30,000-40,000 homes or 300,000-400,000 electric cars. That's a lot of demand. There is very little excess power supply in the US. Its an efficient market.

We better start building a lot of electricity generation capacity and infrastructure. The Jack Kemp foundation (right leaning) published a paper recently that suggested some areas may see up to a 70% increase in electricity cost directly because of data centers over the next 10 years.
