I think that is one of the things the NCAA is trying to prevent (competition among schools with respect to NIL deals)....but in removing the schools from the negotiations, they are basically leaving the student-athlete to manage their own NIL deals without any oversight or protection from the NCAA or the schools. This will take several years....and some student-atheletes being taken advantage of....before all the issues are discovered and worked out.

It's crazy to think the schools aren't involved in the NIL. NIL is corruption at it's worst.
Not trying to do a I told you so,,,,,but.....

All this NIL and portal stuff might be changed if athletes are considered employees,which the federal government is now pushing...The next step is an athletes union.

The more that I read, the more it seems I won't be a Gamecock member much longer or going to games in the near future. The NFL of today sux big time and it looks like college football is hell bent in following them down the drain.
