I've been assured of that by several posters on this board. After thinking about it, I've come to the conclusion that they're right. Polk's always had the reputation for being a pretty level-headed non-emotional type guy who readily accepts any limitations that are put on his influence in matters and respect decisions that are made by people who have the authority to make decisions. I'm sure there won't be any problem.

One, he is not senile....he knows exactly what he is doing and Two He is not apologizing to the new AD. Infact, the New AD may be higher on his list than the NCAA is.

it will stay in the MSU clubhouse and not leave.

Once again, all of Polk's tantrums that became public were because of his access to the media. The media will not want to talk to Polk now that he's not the coach anymore. That would be like the Baltimore media requesting an interview with Earl Weaver after an Orioles baseball game in 2008.

And even if he does, so what? That would be no different than me ranting about MSU baseball. Hell, most people will just laugh it off as a senile old man ranting and won't take it seriously.

This is Cohen's team now. I believe he shares our vision for what MSU can be in baseball. He's not going to let Polk stop him, heck, he didn't listen to Polk when Ron told him to not take the job. Polk knows that Cohen is going to run and play small ball and have a team that plays with emotion, and there's nothing that he can do about it. We have different assistants, and everything. We're about to start a new chapter, and if Polk wants to hang around and tell stories about Will Clark and Burke Masters, so be it. Heck, Cohen can use him to hit fungos while they're out recruiting.

It appears he has mended fences with Cohen and all of that. That's good. Now he needs to publicly do so with Byrne because the things he said about Byrne were totally out of line. You can't just write off comments about making his life miserable and getting him fired by saying you were upset, those things require an apology.

I trust Cohen to run things his way. I don't see the problem with Polk being around. The man does have a huge legacy in SEC baseball, having him around to raise funds and all of that would be a big asset. It had to be on Cohen's terms and I believe it is indeed just that.
