When I was in college, me or my brother and about 50 other people we know would have beat her in 1 on 1. But the woke society will beat this drum until someone tries this narrative. So please let the Lakers or some dumba$$ west coast team draft her, and let’s end this.
It's a "made for TV" event waiting to happen.

I could definitely see her getting in some exhibition game for an NBA team for a publicity stunt, but it would have to be intentionally rigged to make her look good. They would not put her out there knowing she would humiliated.

Her field goal % would go down immediately as soon as she used a men's ball for a season.

There is a distinct reason that all of the best teams in women’s basketball practice against average college boy players. It has been a common practice for many years. We do it, LSU does it, and so do most of the other teams.

I posted this before, but when I was at South Carolina many many years ago, Magic Johnson’s sister played for us. We were ranked number one in the nation at one point. My intramural fraternity team scrimmaged the women’s team for their practice. We ran them out of the gym. After the third time, the coach did not ask us to play against them any longer.

I'll take the 50 other people broke all the scoring records, if so tell me their names. Nothing woke about giving CK her dues. Sure those 50 other people are considered elite and will be in the hall of fame like CK will be one day.
I see points are lost on some people. You go ahead and believe she can make an NBA team. Rational people know better. And since you’re wanting to make stupid points, yeah me and any of those 50 could have excelled at womens college hoops.

No one is taking anything away from her accomplishments. she is the best women’s college player I have ever seen. But forgive me if I don’t pander to those who want to think she can play in the NBA. Like one poster above posted, some team will probably try it for a publicity stunt, and another team will back off to let her shoot and score, and then we will never hear the end of it like the girl kicker .

I don't watch any women's games, though I do see highlights. Clark is incredible. However, I saw a blurb on Twitter comparing her career to that of Brianna Stuart from UConn. Safe to say, there's no comparison as far as career accomplishments.

It's not an interesting question at all. You know that, you just want to get the obvious reaction.
The unfortunate thing about questions like this is that it forces men to seem like they are diminishing the women's game when they are not. The women's game is a beautiful game if you like basketball, but it is a different game than the men's with different athletes.

Caitlyn Clark is 6'0", 154 lbs. Their are no men on a regular 15 NBA roster that is that small. You have a few guys that are below 6ft, but they are all on 2-Way Contracts spending most of their time in the G League. They are usually short stocky guys like a Kennedy Chandler that is probably about 5'11", 190 lbs. If you are short in stature, you usually have to be incredibly fast or incredibly strong preferably both to even compete. Many NBA teams play PGs like a Luka Doncic, Cade Cunningham, or LaMelo Ball who are 6-7 to 6-8. There is no way Clark would be able to get her shot off. Well some may say what about Steph Curry. Don't let that 14 year old face fool you. He is every bit of 6-2 and has gotten in the weight room diligently over the last ten years. He plays at about 185 lbs. So, Clark would be at a 2 inch and 30 lb. disadvantage on every match up. Her push offs wouldn't even move NBA PGs. She is a skilled guard. Will immediately one of the better guards in the WNBA, but her fans get a little over their skis sometimes.

Could she be a starter for any boys high school team in the nation?
Yes, there are probably some 1A-2A programs in her state that don't have a boy over 6-2 and most boys there won't be as skilled as her. She would still struggle to start because of her athletic disadvantage.

Why would the NBA do that when they are already struggling to get people to watch the WNBA product? The NBA loses money on the WNBA every year. They don't have time for a one-off publicity stunt like that. They best that you can look for is that 3 Point shooting contest between Steph and Sabrina Ionescu which was actually fun. Girls can compete in something like that because it's a skill more than athletic task.

If you want to know how different the men's and women's games are, here you go:

Through last season, 8 women in the history of college basketball have dunked, for grand total 36 total dunks. In the history of the game.

For comparison, Obi Toppin had 107 dunks in a single season in 2019-2020. One guy, in one season, tripled the number of dunks in the entire history of WBB. If that doesn't make it clear, nothing will. There is no adjective to adequately describe the different in athleticism.

They are almost not even the same sport.

I assume the person who posted that on Twitter is a CC fan, but saying something like that is really doing CC a disservice. Instead of just allowing her accomplishments to stand on their own, a ridiculous comparison is made. It would be like saying that because Lebron and Jordan were so dominant in basketball, they could probably compete as Premier League soccer players.

Wow, this thread really took off. In my mind, there is no comparison between the men's game and the women's game. They are just different. But, you can still enjoy watching a high level women's game.

Is it "tearing women down" to admit they're physically different than men? I don't think so. If they were on par physically with men, they wouldn't need a separate league.

This is the problem. It's not good enough to simply acknowledge that Clark is a great woman's basketball player. People have to trot out the argument that she could compete with men, which is transparently absurd. Then if you point out the absurdity of it, you're accused of tearing women down.

Yes they're different. Could you birth a child? One of those Williams sisters competed while in her last trimester. Could you do that?

No. I can't get pregnant.

So are you "tearing men down" now? I don't think so. But I'd like us to agree that we can point out the obvious physical differences between men and women without it being a case of tearing one down.

Why do people find the need for women to compete with men in order to prove their worth? Don't get it, never have. Two genders, two different physical makeups, by design, women don't have to compete head to head to prove their worth.

Unfortunately, to many people, inequality equates to inferiority, which is not accurate.

Men and women have equality of essence but inequality of function.

Y'all really seem to enjoy tearing women down.
And "y'all" seem to really enjoy ignoring the reality of human physiology. I guess if some people want to let men who are pretending to be women compete and dominate in women's sports by accepting the mental illness those men have of being female, those same people have to delude themselves into believing men and women are physically equal.

I don't think it is tearing women down to point out that even the best woman basketball player could not begin to compete against men basketball players. There is a reason the WNBA has refused to take up the challenge of having their best team play a boys high school state championship team.

Stupid is your name as they say. By the way still waiting on the 50 other peoples names. I know you don't have them and you never will. Now go back to the hole you came from

My friend, if you think that Caitlin Clark can do the same things that Steph Curry does in the NBA, you are the one who lives in a hole. You are completely disconnected with reality.

It was interesting, there was a clip on Twitter from the LSU game last night that showed their star player and what was supposed to be a play demonstrating her marvelous athleticism. She stole the ball from Iowa and had a breakaway wide-open down the other in the court, and she ended up making a junior high looking layup.

She is great, but no, she could not play against NBA players. They're so much bigger and stronger. That's not sexist, that's just a fact. Now, if it was a game of horse or shooting contest, yes she could compete.
