Interesting visual comparison Bear Bryant at 69 years old vs Nick Saban at 69 years old

Probably all those golden flake potato chips and cigarettes

A different time and mindset. Bear was a WWII veteran who chain smoked(was the thing back in his day) he was not an alcoholic but did enjoy the stronger drinks I think Kentucky sour mash bourbon was his favorite. Saban comes off as someone who's health conscious.

People just looked older back then. Ever look at a high school yearbook from the 50s or 60s? Looked at some of my parents once and all the seniors look like adults well into their 20s. I looked at my high school yearbook, and we all look like little babies in comparison.

Could be all those National Championships.

I believe it's 13 between the two of them. NS= 7 BB=6

SEC Championships BB = 14 NS = 10

Makes me think Saban has a personal goal of winning more SEC titles than Bear Bryant .

BB coach 38 years.... This will be NS 27th year of college football .

This. People just look younger overall now. 60 is the new 40.

Diet and exercise (and just overall healthcare and wellness) is just light years ahead of where it was. Now people can take care of themselves as much (or as little) as they want - but at least they have the option now.

Bear Bryant's salary in the late 1970s was $45,000, the equivalent of about $215,000 today. What is Saban's salary, about $11m+? If you don't think a guy making $11m per year, with access to the best fitness trainers, dieticians, and facilities that money can buy will almost always look younger compared to a similar-aged guy who is just upper middle-class, then I don't know what to tell you. This seems like a no-brainer.
