that Cam would commit 2 days before his press conference date that he's had such a hard time setting? He set today as his date almost a week ago, then pushed it back, only to commit today anyway without an announced press conference. That just doesn't make sense to me.

The police come to his apartment to question him about the laptop. Then when they step outside for a minute he throws it out the window hoping they won't notice it's gone and will just forget about it. That ranks right up there with Arnil Stallworth leaving a $95 tip at the Sonic when she started looking at the fake $100 bill he gave her.

All of this drama to get attention accomplishes nothing.

His play on the football field is what is going to determine his NFL future.

When it's all said and done, he will have chosen a college. That's it. Nothing more.

we'll find us a QB. I believe Mullen understands how important the position is unlike his predecessor. I just don't think it makes much sense to put so much into one player. He will not make or break our season next year. We need a lot of help at a lot of positions, primarily in the secondary. If he comes, great. If not, life will go on and we will be ok in the end.

We already have a QB that I think will have a very good career for us in Russell and you're right that we'll sign more good QBs (probably either Brunetti or Favre and the other JUCO guy if Newton doesn't sign with us). But we'll be better if Newton does sign with us.</p>

but it pisses me off to no end that we recruit the hell out of somebody at an obvious position of need where competition is minimal, offer him the world......yet STILL get beat by the "big boys" of the world who recruited the guy for a week. Of course none of us will ever know exactly how this dude's recruitment went.

I made the exact same point to a buddy last night when all of this Auburn crap broke. Contrary to the Newtons perceived importance of this announcement or press conference, no one gives a **** where this kid signs outside of Bulldog and War Bald Eagle Nation.</p>
