Am I the only one surprised there have not been any announcements of staff departures? Here we are Thursday morning and nothing after an underachieving season. I've speculated before that Beamer may not have the cahoonas to make the tough decisions. Is he waiting for someone to scoop in and take some of these staff members off his hands like Rhule did with Satterfield? The problem with that is it may not happen and, in the meantime, better people will be scooped up by other schools. If he has decided that changes need to be made on staff, he needs to "man up" and take action to move forward. He owes that to the university. We took a chance on him. He had no qualification to be a Head Coach other than being the son of a legendary coach. How many sons of legendary Head Coaches ever win big on their own. I cannot think of one. Terry Bowden just got fired again.

I was about to type that every day that passes means less and less of a chance any changes are made.
But then I thought of the early signing period, and how he might wait to make a move if he's avoiding defections?

At this point, Beamer needs to worry about being able to field a team next season.
The portal will provide warm bodies. We'll have a team.
Now, will it be as good as this year's? That's the question.
Terry when Coaching Auburn went undefeated 1 year and won all but 1 game the next year. Terry did this while Auburn was on Probation. No bowl game allowed by the NCAA.
No announcement doesn’t necessarily mean he hasn't already made a change. Sometimes they keep it quiet to give a coach a chance to get on somewhere else. It’s easier to get a job when you have one - the optics are better.

I had a typo - I meant that he may have already made a change, but just kept it quiet. Satterfield was just great luck because I don't think he would have let him go.
But take a look at his overall record as a Head Coach. He won 57% of his games. That's not winning big. It's mediocre. And in comparison to his Dad, he comes out miserably. His Dad won 75% of his games. And that 75% includes his last 6 years at FSU when he won only 61% of his games, clearly "over the hill". As I said, I cannot think of any son of a legendary Head Coach winning big, throughout their careers like their "old man"......not even close. I hope Shane can be the exception.
I'm willing to risk that it will be worse in order to have a chance of being better. If we have a losing record, I don't much care if it's 5-7 or 3-9. Keep adjusting until we figure it out.
Dabo fired two coaches Thursday even though they still have a bowl game to play . Beamer needs to take lessons.
