Yeah, with the influx of world class talent this year in Blaze, Davino, Jax, Larkin, Seidel, it’s no guarantee that either returning finalist is even an AA this year. The unfortunate Crookham injury lightens the load a little, but it’s still a murderer’s row to go through.

How likely is it that those five guys in this year’s freshmen class only lose to each other in their entire careers?

Arnold is at the same weights as Kennedy and Ferrari. At PSU we would call this quality depth, or call him Nate Desmond or Lucas Cochran and clamor to get him into the lineup. He's not a future national champ but is a likely AA at 174 next year with Kennedy graduated.

Jesuroga ... we're gonna blame Brands for him quitting the sport in his HS SR year? Yes, that was a setback. Also, Iowa with Ayala, Cruz, Peterson, and DeLuca recovered far quicker from this than PSU did from Cruiseliner Nick.

The real problem is recruiting and talent development across the board. Ayala, Bailey, and Williams regressed. Peterson and Kennedy stagnated. DeLuca and Ludington aren't ready (vs Desmond and Henckel could go now if needed). Petersen, Block, and Estrada haven't developed beyond serviceable and might never.

That plus injuries. Lots and lots of wear and tear.

Yep.
