Is it any surprise at all that this happens on a Kiffin-coached team?

Blatant fake injuries have been around for a long time, ever since the hurry up offenses got real popular.

I think it was Auburn a few years back, they had two guys on defense line up, then fall over injured.

This takes the cake though.

It's one thing for a player to lay on the ground a bit longer than necessary after a play and feign an injury. That's been around, probably as long as football's been around. But the fake injuries have really taken off this year and become much more egregious and obvious.

Nothing was as bad this one though. Player clearly looks to the sideline to take a signal to fake an injury.

The only way to curtail this issue is to implement some kind of ruling, that if a player goes down to "injury", they must sit out a certain number of plays. I don't think 1 play would be enough to discourage this behavior, but if you implement 2-3 plays (or more), that may put a damper on the blatant fake injuries.

Yes. Need to do something. Much like they implemented a rule to stop the fake QB slide.

I also have been saying this for a while but the player should have to sit out the remainder of that series

Sit the rest of the series or take a time out.

Know what they say, "When in Rome",,,,"do as Romans do".
Or
bingo… Ole Miss has already said they’re going to go fast this week, we need to fake injuries every other snap and treat them to their own game. I hate it, but Lane in teams have been the instigators of this tactic for years. I’m perfectly fine with slowing them down using fake injuries.

With that said, we all know the referees will make up a penalty on us if we do it

Here's the remedy: make any suspicious injuries reviewable. If game officials, including the replay official, deem that an injury is being faked, suspend the player for a minimum of three games and fine the school $200,000.

Good God look at 71 in that shot. Dude is Mammoth. Just looked him up. 6'6" 341. Blocking our 295 guys.
they better run faster. WE still need the huge Nose guard to clog the middle against these teams with huge lineman. don't need to tackle anyone just clog it up.

Did anyone else note Kiffin's remarks to the sideline reporter when they were up 27-3?...... "This game should not be this close".

Call Kiffin every derogatory name you can think of: SOB....POS.....Jacka$$. The guy has 2 things in common with Steve Spurrier: 1. great with the "cutting" quips on the opponent and 2. a WINNER.

If I could, I'd trade Shane Beamer for Lane Kiffin TONIGHT. If all Carolina fans were under a truth serum, 99% would agree with me.

What about the fake offensive PI penalties? Need to review those as well. I know they can't be reviewed but even the commentators are baffled by these calls
