Is Joey Porter, Jr , an all-time PSU CB and is this the best secondary we've had since 2005? 1986 with Cobbs and Isom, etc?

Neal Smith was a safety. So were Mark Robinson, Darren Perry, and Michael Zordich. Believe it or not, we never had a 1st team All American at CB. Alan Zemaitis was 2nd team AA and Eddie Johnson and David Macklin were 3rd team. Paul Lankford had a long career with the Dolphins and Brian Miller was a three-time all Big Ten first teamer.Sure. Don't know of any CB off the top of my head that was more talented from PSU. I think Mark Robinson was a safety. Not sure about Neal Smith.

This year's secondary is the best I've seen and JPJ is as good as any corner we've had going back to the late 60s. Just watch out for that King kid. He might wind up as our best ever.
You mean he beat you to it.Of all the names thrown out here, Porter really grabs me.
He's pretty clutch ... pretty cluuutchOf all the names thrown out here, Porter really grabs me.
Fwiw, the Commanders fan site I frequent has them taking JPJ with their first pick.I think that Joey has a chance to be a very good pro. He can be a little 'grabby' at the LOS and I'm not sure his 40 time will keep him near the top of the NFL draft.
Only criticism is he’s too much of a talker…..but that’s true of the team in general.
Just wish they’d all just kick butt and shut up.
31 other players.Who else is talented enough to be drafted in the first round?

It’s hard to argue with the logic in this one, too.31 other players.

Except for thisNo. David Macklin was a better player who was less penalty prone.
Hamilton and Robinson may beg to differ.No. David Macklin was a better player who was less penalty prone.
Honestly though, the cornerback position at PSU has a weak historic legacy compared to other positions on defense.
The 2021 secondary was tremendous and had the best safety tandem (Brisker and Brown) in PSU history.
Hamilton and Robinson may beg to differ.
Also, Derek Fox?
I still have nightmares of D. Fox getting beat at the end of the game against Notre Dame in South Bend. Also, Derek Fox?
