Is Drew Allar the most hated 5 star QB in PSU history? Discuss.
I actually feel sorry for Allar. The full focus of the BWICAC will descend on him once they don't have Clifford to kick around anymore. No mere mortal quarterback can lead PSU to the promised land while simultaneously discovering the cure for cancer.
Three games into next season the fanboys will begin to turn on him.
What kills me is the self-perceived superiority of certain people on this board. Former coaches (regardless of the level) acting as if only their opinions have any merit — though of course I’m sure that doesn’t stop them from criticizing politicians, actors, singers, etc. despite being none of those. Those that imply they are “better fans” because they accept performance levels by players and coaches that others don’t. Those that say “you’re not at practice” so you can’t have an opinion on whether a backup might be better than a starter (because that has NEVER happened in the history of sports, coaches being infallible evaluators and all). Those that call other board members names (“Joebot,” BWICAC,” etc.).

Morelli used to get some of this- I remember being at a game where the receiver cut the wrong way and the idiot behind me started shouting at Morelli until a few of us told him what he had actually seen.
Morelli would have been killed even more had he played in these conditions. Shaffer was the epitome of a leader, avg QB at best, but what PSU needed at the time, the backup was far more talented at the time, but JS was the guy for that squad.
No hate from.me. He has flaws but played behind crappy offensive lines. Stop getting offensive linemen from Ivy league schools.
I can't wait to hate Allar. I'm already looking forward to the next guy.

I don't think I, or 99.9% of fans, ever hate any player. It's just a sport, if it were serious enough to hate, wouldn't be message boards centered around any of this.
Is he the most disliked? Maybe, I don't know. Possibly?
He is more than likely the last 4 year starting QB in college history at the same school. That shows longevity, but it also highlights a few things:
He's never been good enough to move on to the NFL.
He's had a coach that has been enormously loyal to him, especially with the transfer portal existing in his tenure.
Those 2 things above kind of highlight some of the dislike of him, in my opinion. Not personal, just a hope that better could be achieved under center. But hate is a really strong word.

that's odd, considering that there are 12 QBs with higher ratings right now- maybe the Jets rate him #4
