Reading deeper, this non-profit is closely tied to a for-profit entity run by the same guy, for which ON3 is also connected.

In any event, this at least seems to be a step towards organizing college athletes to provide greater leverage for NIL, benefits, etc. It at least gives off the faint aroma of union.

When college athletes become employees and/or unionize is when I will be done with college sports. If I want to watch unionized professional athletes I will watch athletes who are the best at their sport.

I just wonder if all the people who shouted and wailed for poor college athletes to be able to profit from their name, image, and likeness will still feel so strongly when all is said and done, and college athletics is completely unrecognizable.
