Is this why the Clemson game is at noon?

Speculation swirling that ESPN made the game at noon as retribution for Clemson rejecting their request to move the game to Black Friday.

Well, it was at noon two years ago. Maybe they were mad at them for not moving this year's game back then, too???

That was my first thought, but maybe ESPN was just being considerate of the small businesses in Clemson, as Dabo brought that up, a noon kickoff will allow people to have time to go shop and spend money after the game, :)

ESPN's integrated scheduling is way bigger than any retribution against Clemson. It's formulaic to maximize eyeballs across the platform from the noon kickoff to the end of the night games. They don't give a **** about Clemson or local small businesses. They're selling their own advertising inventory on rivalry weekend.
Indeed.

I'd call it narcissism, except I'm not sure that is the right word for when you think the college football world revolves around your Pickens County rival.
