Guys that want to be head coaches take head coaching jobs when they get the chance. Guys that avoid it all their careers when given those chances, don’t really want it (because they don’t believe in themselves).

Nope. Don't think anyone is surprised that Oklahoma's defense is struggling as they haven't been any good in years. Much more surprised that their offense isn't any better than it is.
Well, I certainly hope Venables does _just_ enough at Oklahoma to keep his job for a while. I'd rather avoid the possibility that Dabo would get him back on staff at Tatertown.
He's supposed to be a defensive genius(much like he who shall not be named)but Texas made Ok look like a HS team.
Venables downfall was his handling of the Cale Gundy situation. Half the team quit when Gundy did.
I know some could quit on the team while still being there, but did a lot of players actually quit the team?
He's got excuses for now but not sure how long. He needs more time to get his recruits in place..
It seems a lot of the OU folks believe Riley left the team in a mess, obviously starting with poaching the QB.
I guess it has to be defined by what exactly "The Hot Seat" would mean and to what degrees.

Yes, their most recent two losses are about as bad as any two games in a row we've ever seen in Columbia and you know how we feel when we're truly sucking. Think of how much more they are entitled to be p!$$ed off with ineptitude than we are. This ain't supposed to happen to them.

Actually yes. He is his strength and conditioning coordinator I believe.
I thought someone told me that guy ended up going to UVA with the other coordinator?
He was the premier getback coach in the country, so I suspect some big program with a getback coach vacancy snatched him up.
