Did Penn State have any players commit early, for the 2022 class, and then not sign? I know of the offensive lineman from Maryland, but that is the only one that is coming to mind. Were there more? It seems like it was a very stable recruiting year in that regard.

They had the CB from Louisiana who decommitted a while back. One commit has to complete his academics and Lackawanna and could not sign now.

I think this was more related to the fact the kids could visit the schools as opposed to during the covid lockdowns there were not visits and it resulted in a bunch of guys changing their minds. I think part of that is driving high numbers in the portal this year too.

Yeah, didn’t he commit to USC before settling on LSU (which was his dream school)? Franklin did a great job with this class and a lot of it had to to with a) lots of players being from PA and b) excellent leadership in the class (Talley especially) IMO.

I think the portal is the main reason for what seems like fewer than usual de-commits as the kids know they can leave anytime they want if things aren't what they expected.
