No choice now but to get on board and hope for the best.

Good lord. I don't know much about this guy other than he is a "pro scheme" guy. I'm in the dark whether to be excited or deflated. Typically these type guys (prev. NFL experience) sh$t the bed unless they're at Bama , LSU or GA. We will see. Hoping for good.

There's definitely nothing about the hire that will excite the fan base going into next year. Whether or not we should be disappointed, I don't know.

One thing I know for sure, he'll go into next season with a VERY short leash from the fan base. If the offense sputters in Game 1, there won't be much patience.

Well, just when you think we are irrelevant, we keep becoming less relevant. I guess I should have expected that Beamer would lie to us and we'd end up with an NFL failure and college tight end coach. I guess masochism will keep me here, but why do we even bother? Underwhelmed=understatement. I fully expect to be as good as we were with Satterfield minus the bowl game, the Tennessee game and the Clemson game.

Just our luck that there was no merit to the Mullen rumors but the Loggains rumor stuck, lol (and I wasn't all that enthused about Mullen, but sure beats Loggains)

If he was worried about heat from fans, he better come out with guns blazing or he won't know what hit him.

My hope lies with his recruiting. He is reputed to be excellent in that regard. Let's just pray that the rest of it plays out in our favor. I would rather win than to have my worst fears confirmed.
Yep, it is so bad we are now at "Let's pray this works out." That is pretty much bottom. I am pro prayer, but when it comes to football, you never want to be at that point. Such is the life of a South Carolina fan.

The real question is, does Shane Beamer have a credibility problem? This is the second time he boasted about people trying to knock down the doors to be on South Carolina's staff and that the best of the best are calling. This hire isn't that at all, unless you believe the tight end's coach from a 6-6 Arkansas team was literally the best choice. To me, he looks like the only candidate there was.

I hope it works. But amazing how we went from feeling amazing 2 weeks ago to having this hire, Bell, Stogner, and Lloyd transfer out. Ready for some good news.
My extreme optimism has disappeared. This hire is a huge disappointment. By every objective measure, this looks like the coaching fraternity has weighed Beamer and no quality coordinators think he is long for the job.

You people need to lighten up…..AR fans hoped he would stay. Doubt he will use the Satterfield first 10 game approach. Same people were bitching about the Shane hire….so far it’s working out good. We will see soon how this hire works out…but he gets my support. (Until the first 3 and out😀)

I do remember Lou Holtz, Steve Spurrier, and Nick Saban having horrible NFL coaching results. However they were proven coaches in college.

I think its great to have a former NFL offensive coordinator as a college offensive coordinator. That is an asset I would like to have in my pocket while talking to recruits on offense. Major plus. To my knowledge Satterfield had never been an offensive coordinator at any level. We were his testing ground.

That is not the case this time. I think it will be fascinating to hear the difference between an experienced NFL OC and an inexperienced college OC.

This is going to be fun. Go Gamecocks!!!

Blows the mind that in this day and age of players jumping ship and them being around long enough to develop into workable pieces of a puzzle becoming more doubtful, we decide a complicated offense is the way to go.

I heard that as well. There is something going on behind the scenes and it isn't good. My guess is other programs are offering NIL deals Carolina can't match, or toxic environment that has gone unreported. I lean toward the former.
This NIL thing is spreading like wildfire and doing severe damage to college football. The game may never be the same!
Very sad 😞

Satterfield was an OC under Rhule at Temple.

Even worse, I think NIL is going to kill college football. It already is. I mean I was excited about the bowl game and I considered going. I don't even know who is playing for us and frankly I am starting to care less and less.

This simply cannot happen.
If it does then I may need to seriously consider how I spend my time and $$. These universities are expecting the fans to pony up and pay for these NIL deals. Sorry, I ain’t a fool. These guys will always jump ship for more $$ and that means there will never be enough. I’ll find better things to do than invest time and $ into a bunch of kids with no loyalty.

During the season it’ll be fine but College Football is no longer the same sport as it was even 10 years ago. Recruiting was such a big part of it. Development a huge part of it. Now…don’t allow yourself to get too excited about anybody. They can all leave.

A charity hire. USC is a special place that gives coaches with losing records a chance to prove themselves. Who needs records and stats, a hunch is good enough. Sigh

I will watch cause they have Gamecocks on the front of the jersey and because the ones on the field didn’t quit.

But “care” is not the word I would use for a bowl any longer. And I sure as he!! ain’t wasting money to travel to one. Think I will pay my power bill instead.

Oh yeah…shout out to Brandon and his cronies for this great economy. Love seeing groceries up 60%. Keep up the good work America. With the economy and college football, maybe we can screw up everthing that used to be good.

It's worse than free agency because signing a scholarship is not a contract locking them in for a certain period of time.
Equivalent to immediate free agency which is crazy and gives new meaning to term "money ball".

Nice to see how many message board warriors there are on this site that know more about football and football personnel than Coach Beamer.

Welcome aboard Coach Loggains. Don't listen to the noise from the basement.

Under the radar and not even noteworthy to mention on ESPN website.
