Assistant OL coach? Isn't that a demotion?
Apparently reading is not your strong suit. Assistant coach and offensive line coach. You know that slash means something. Although I’m not sure what the assistant coach means. Assistant coach of what.

It has been suggested that he would be the Assistant Head Coach and OL Coach. Just a way to get him the money needed to get him on the staff. We shall see.

All position coaches are assistant coaches, technically.

It's like I put in another thread. College football isnt' worth it anymore, at least not for Gamecock fans. Y'all need to do like the rest of us and find other things to entertain yourselves with on Fall Saturdays. Our team is run by a mediocre coaching staff, who answers to a mediocre board of trustees. I can't waste the emotional energy on this shi+show anymore.

One would have to assume, at a bare, bare minimum, White is gone. And that would be Beamer making one move he has no choice but to make. If that move isn't made, I don't even know what we're doing here, but it isn't trying to win football games.

This past season was really the first in 15yrs or so where I didn't plan my Saturdays around every game. First where I didn't know the time we played each weekend. I think I only watched the Mississippi St. game start to finish. The first game of the season - after the never-ending darkness that is the offseason - I didn't see a single snap. It was so weird. But after 50-ish years, I guess I've finally been beaten down to that point. All of this NIL/portal mess only compounds it, for SC football and CFB overall.

He was last a head coach in 2019. Most recently OL coach.

Lots of coordinators don't work out as head coaches and return to what they're good at.

There's absolutely no way to spin the Luke hire as anything but a home run? Will it yield desired results? As with any coaching hire, you can never tell. But there aren't 5 guys in the nation who no more about coaching OL than Luke.

I hope that someone is lighting a fire on Nepo Baby Beamer's rear end to try to correct this past season's underachievement. Dabo is not messing around. Maybe Beamer can't find quality replacements due to Ray's penny pinching, That should not be the case at a SEC school. But who KNOWS? It really is troubling to see our rival moving forward.

Clemson will now be spending in excess of 20 million a year in football coaching. It just means more to them I guess. You would think the high price for those 2 will create increases for others and that’s not taken into account.

Thats what it'll be. Swinney not scared to bring in a former HC as long as they all get better. If Beamer keeps going the same direction with OC/DCs he's shown thus far in columbia ...the end will be near

It has been slowly trending that way for me a for while now. It's a combination of a consistently poor-to-mediocre product on the part of USC football and having a growing family. Too many fun, family things to do with the kids in the fall. If I have to choose between making memories with my kids or watching us pull a complete no-show against MIzzou for the 5th time in a row, there's no choice there.

The only games I watched start to finish were Furman and UK. Both happened to be night games and the kids were in bed, so it just worked out. And neither game was so frustratingly awful that I had to turn it off. But it's the least Gamecock football I've watched in a VERY long time...and that includes 2 years when we were stationed in Japan. My Saturdays used to be kind of non-negotiable. I'd tell my wife whatever we did, I needed to be home at such and such time to see our game. I haven't done that in years. This has been the progression for me:
"Whatever we do, we have to be home in time for the start of the game"
"I'd like to try to be home for the game"
"I'd like to be home to catch at least part of the game"
"If we're home in time, I'll turn the game on"
"I'll just check the score while we're out"

So, you spend more time on this site than actually watching Gamecocks play?

I have not tracked it, but apparently you are keeping close tabs on me? Not sure whether to be flattered or creeped out...

See my post: I'm married with children. Thanks, though?

Let’s wait and see. Both of those guys seem to move around a lot. Riley was the hot assistant and they didn’t exactly light things up.

It's funny how the narrative on Beamer and Loggains is that they'll need time to produce, yet Riley is trash to so many because Clemson was middle of the road offensively (and still better than South Carolina). Seems a lot like wishful thinking.

If you added it up I would say a gross percentage in here do. 3.5 x7= 24.5. I bet in a years time I spend more than that reading and posting.

Right, it's not that hard to do. 12 games a year. This forum is up 365 days a year.

Even if each of our games went 4 hours, that's 48 hours total. I am confident most regular posters here easily surpass that on the forum. Even the goober who brought it up.

Thankfully I am not even close to that. I still pay my Gamecock Club dues and buy my four tickets in south lower section 12. I still have my spot over in the RV lot. I have no plans to give any of that up any time soon. I go to all the home games and watch all the ones on the road.

Point taken. However, the site is 24-7. The games are once a week for twelve weeks. I was pointing out the hypocrisy of constantly posting on this site bf not seeming to care enough to go to or watch a game

Do you know what hypocrisy means?

Hypocrisy would be portraying myself as some super fan who never misses a second of any game ever. I straight up said I don't prioritize watching the games any longer. Though you conveniently skipped over the part where I stated that much of that was due to family priorities, which would win out even if we were a CFP contender.

You really think me turning the game generates $$$$ in tv revenue?
Yes that’s kinda how that works. You know tv ratings. It’s why when I go to the games I still record. You individually no but if everyone had that mentality yes.
