Serious people taking their jobs seriously.

Meanwhile, we’ve got Teasley.
People forget we got very lucky in Beamer's first season to beat both East Carolina and Vanderbilt (at home) by last minute field goals. And anyone who watched the Jax State game this season, knows we were fortunate to win that game as well. We could have easily lost all 3. Would Beamer still be here had we lost? Beamer does not have a strong staff. He has not had one from his first day on the job. We are going to experience more of the same next season. And it's not because of the schedule.

I give him the benefit of the doubt with a learning curve for evaluating staff. Took Dabo a little bit of time as well. But the next batch of hires can’t miss.

This past season was really the first in 15yrs or so where I didn't plan my Saturdays around every game. First where I didn't know the time we played each weekend. I think I only watched the Mississippi St. game start to finish. The first game of the season - after the never-ending darkness that is the offseason - I didn't see a single snap. It was so weird. But after 50-ish years, I guess I've finally been beaten down to that point. All of this NIL/portal mess only compounds it, for SC football and CFB overall.
I did this after the Muschamp Dukes bowl shutout game.

It's like I put in another thread. College football isnt' worth it anymore, at least not for Gamecock fans. Y'all need to do like the rest of us and find other things to entertain yourselves with on Fall Saturdays. Our team is run by a mediocre coaching staff, who answers to a mediocre board of trustees. I can't waste the emotional energy on this shi+show anymore.

Well. Go Away!
I mostly did. I only watched like two games this year. I still like to come on here to see what other people are thinking and sometimes post myself. The whole point of a freeform is for people to be able to come on here and talk and vent and communicate and discuss and argue

Clemson will now be spending in excess of 20 million a year in football coaching. It just means more to them I guess. You would think the high price for those 2 will create increases for others and that’s not taken into account.
I really believe Tanner doesn’t get excited about football. He would like a great football team, I guess, because it eventually reflects on him. I don’t think he cares enough to really commit his energy and the department’s resources to help improve the football program. I will get bashed for saying it but the evidence seems to support what I am saying. I have been critical of RT but to his credit the Paris hire seems to be working out, at least at this point. It’s just that like a lot of us I would really like the football program to excel.
