It has transitioned from news to soap opera. I am getting nauseous at all the love.

Foley confirmed that they started the process of locating a replacement. Now what they do next, who knows? Hopefully mullen wants no part of this f'n Mickey mouse situation. It's hopeless for them in my opinion in terms of getting a quality experienced HC. Never thought I'd see the day when foley would let one man become more important than the program.

I had to turn it a while ago.

Way too much man-love on that stage for me.

They started it, but Foley said that Meyer would remain the head coach, but be on a leave of absence until he comes back. There is no search.

of the last 24 hours, that everything is now settled? Because urban meyer and foley say so? Have at it, if that's what you believe. I, on the other hand, will continue to believe that foley will be putting together packages for his replacement guy.

Just when I think this board has reached its rock bottom of stupidity, someone goes and digs a little deeper.

What kind of a coach is going to want to go somewhere where:

A. You're replacing a guy who has won two NC's.

B. Said coach could decide to come back as the HC at any moment, and then you're gone.

C. Said coach is looking over your shoulder all the time.

I do agree with you that Foley is looking for a replacemnt for Meyer, but if he were to even get a guy half the caliber of Dan Mullen, he would be exrtemely lucky, because I don't think very many coaches are going to want to go to Florida under those three conditions I just said above. And I haven't even talked about the fact that they are going to lose Tebow and no telling how many of their players that will go to the NFL by coming out early. And even though they will throw a ton of money at a potential replacement, why would a coach do that, knowing that they could go to some other big name school like Georgia and not have to worry about the rest of this crap.

I think what they will have to do is either:

A. Promote Dan McCarney as an interim coach, which I think is the most likely scenario here given the events of today.

B. Hire a retread who is looking to get "back in the game". Someone like a Mike Shanahan, who has ties to UF.

And if I were a Florida fan, neither of those options looks really great. And if/when Meyer comes back, who knows when this may happen again? It's a heart condition, it's not like he has TB or something that is going to go away.

I think Foley needs to tell Meyer to resign. I can't see letting him hang around being good for their program.

If Jimbo Fisher can do it, I am sure others would too.

until you dropped Shanahan's name. Do you really think that Shanahan, as the prohibitive favorite for the Skins job, would accept what looks to be an interim position at UF?
