So I heard a ridiculous rumor that Gerald West (son of jj johnson) was not even considering Mississippi State for next year.... Anybody heard anything along those lines?</p>

Doing a little math, I'm thinking he had to be 15 or 16 when the child was conceived. Not entirely unheard of, but most likely not the type of situation where he ended up in the typical father role.

Edited to add: Doesn't Darren McPhadden have a load of illegitimate kids? If a lot of them are boys, then there will be an influx of RB talent on the D-1 level in about 15 years.

I believe he was in the armed forces before he came to state, so he was older than you typical college athlete....
