So does his paycheck go way up now since he’s officially been called up or does he have to play a certain number of games?

Man, I thought he got that one out. Good at bat though. He doesn’t look out of place. I’m watching the Tampa Bay feed and they were complimentary of him and talked about his time at Mississippi State and how long he was in the minors.

At minimum, he gets bumped up to $760,000 annual salary for the time he is up, on a per game basis. Works out to about $4,700 per game that he is on the active roster. He’d only need to be active for about 10-12 games to make his entire AAA salary for a year, just for reference.

There may be some additional considerations in his contract, like perhaps he still gets MLB salary for X number of days (or Rays games) after getting sent back to AAA, maybe injury considerations / guarantees based on whatever the CBA says, but I’m unsure what those are.

Pretty much guaranteed 10 days since that’s how long Lowe is on DL. I expect worst case he’ll get 2-3 10-days stints in majors this year. And hopefully, he’ll make it impossible for them to send him down & he’ll stay up for several years.

Saw something saying the Lowe injury is bad and he’s going to be out a while
