Jim Beard, Steely Dan Keyboardist, Dies at 63

Jim Beard, the longtime touring keyboardist for Steely Dan and acclaimed jazz composer/producer, has died at 63.

I mean, I do think it’s always sad for loved ones and friends when someone dies - but this is the most random death post I’ve ever seen. The guy wasn’t even a member of Steely Dan, just a keyboardist for their recent tours (which I suspect mostly consisted of regional festivals dedicated to local fruits and vegetables - I’m looking at you Okra Strut!).

But since we’re on this, I’m sad to be the first to tell everyone, the mother of Dee Snider’s hairstylist from Twisted Sister’s 1984 tour has gout.

Not familiar with him even though I'm a huge Steely Dan fan. a lot of guys from this era are passing on. I also saw where Blackberry Smoke's drummer passed.
