If they wanted the suspensions to actually hurt they world require them to be conference games or games at the end of the season. As it stands now it's rather laughable. Probably helps him prep for the conference games.
They don't want the suspensions to hurt. This is Michigan allowing the NCAA to save face. There are alot of nasty things going on in college football right now. The NCAA has to have something to show for the amount of time and resources they spent looking into Jim's lunch date with 3 recruits and some evaluating being done by assistants when they technically weren't allowed. Michigan will probably announce a nice big contract extension for Jim as big old middle finger to the NCAA boys in the coming days too

And Michigan will still never win a title with ole Jimmy. Every SEC school hopes they sign him to a nice long contract.

Is it known who the players were that were targeted with the illegal recruiting? For example, if it were McCarthy one could argue it helped change the trajectory of UM football after being OSU's beyatch for the prior 10 years.

4 game suspension against patsies would be worth it if it helped them close on some game changers.

But I'm sure it's all just a misunderstanding.

P.S. I'm disappointed about what college FB is becoming/has become. But I'm a traditionalist.

What, did they suspend him for the first 4 home cupcakes games for Michigan? Their schedule last year was soft as hell. They didn’t leave Michigan for about the first 4-6 weeks.

Well, he's already won the Big Ten twice. Been to the playoff twice. Probably about to 3 peat on both of those accomplishments this year. I can live with that. I'm pretty happy right now as a college football fan.😁

Yeah. I wouldn’t celebrate being a sacrificial lamb in the playoffs as an accomplishment. You got embarrassed on the biggest stage. You’re on the same level as ND as far as playoff success.😆

I suggested we lend out our own negotiator extraordinaire, Rodless Erickson, to Michigan to guide them through their negotiations with the NCAA.
(Please oh please!!)

They might end up vacating Harbaugh's wins with Stanford and the 49ers when Rod gets through with 'em.

Pretty sure some more of our UM friends will chime in, and tell us why this is good for Michigan football, college football in general, great for America and wonderful for World peace.
Just giving Jimmy a rest so his battery is fully charged for the rest of the schedule!

Remember when Chase Young was suspended for being gifted some money or a plane ticket, only to be reinstated for the Penn State game where he had 3 sacks and a forced fumble? Same thing but with a pasty head coach and he's going to be MAD

Michigan’s first four games are all at home, with three against teams from the Group of Five (East Carolina, UNLV and Bowling Green). On Sept. 23, Michigan hosts a Rutgers team that finished 4-8 last season.“

That’ll show ‘em.

I considered that if the same thing happened at PSU, the ncaa would suspend Franklin for three years. Then I considered that the ncaa would know that this would make PSU fans happy, so they wouldn’t suspend him at all.

Again, fine by me. I love where we're at and this team this fall is a bunch of killers. Not unbeatable obviously but the kind of team any fanbase would die to root for and a coaching staff to match.

Isn't the lying and coverup the same thing that Tressel was fired for......and the Booger eater gets suspended for 4 cupcakes.
Times have changed. Back in 2010, the NCAA had some teeth. Now a-holes like Michigan and Booger just do what they want. He's a true Michigan Man

It's ironic that Jimmy was calling out Day for breaking Covid rules when he himself was doing the same thing.

"The college football season hasn’t even started yet, and University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is already getting under Ohio State head coach Ryan Day’s skin.

During the weekly Big Ten coaches conference call, Harbaugh interrupted Day mid-answer, and accused him of violating rules by having on-field instructions and drills take place already while it is not yet permitted in the NCAA, according to a post from Bucknuts.

“How bout I worry about my team and you worry about yours?” Day reportedly snapped back at Harbaugh."

He has always been jealous of Day.

Erickson? For real results we need to lend them the 11.9/11 BOT…

It will be settled in the tunnel. Booger is going to get clocked by an equipment manager.
