I know he was a hot shot name with Burrow and LSU. Whatever happened to him? Does anyone know if he was considered as a candidate for head coach when we were looking?

He is the OC with the Bills currently. He has not lit the world on fire since that LSU run, but I guess anything might be better than what we currently have as it turns out. Too early to make that judgement on Lebby, but I will say I do not like the whole not being able to say anything good. As others have pointed out even when Mullen or JWS were bad early you got this sense the team was responding to them and beginning to turn a corner even early on. I get that exact opposite feeling with Lebby.

I don’t understand why he was not given a look during the coaching search. Seems like he has a more impressive OC resume than Lebby.

He only spent one year in college and is a NFL guy. He also was not the OC the year LSU won it all just passing game OC. Also, he was let go at Carolina. If we consider him we are stupid.

He worked under Moorehead at Penn St so most likely wasn’t considered or interested due to the association.

Hell some were all on board for Joe
Judge. Sad to say we'd still be lacking at this point.

We have some dumb fans that like to experiment with coordinators position coaches with no head coaching experience building a program and doing it with less talent, i prefer coaches like leach, Mullen, Malzahn, cignetti that do more with less and have proven it. Would coaches like that which fit that description be interested in msu? Probably not any more since we decided to experiment with Arnett for a season and now with lebby. Dug is in a whole. I hope lebby can dig us out because we are rock bottom right now

This is an asinine statement, you're right why would some consider a person with actual head coaching experience who has mentored under arguably the best college and NFL coaches in history.

Outside of Mullen how have the coordinator hires gone for State? We keep doing the same and expecting a different outcomes. We need a HEAD COACH someone who hires coordinators and holds them to a standard and expectation and then does the head coaching job of running the team!!!

I don’t see how Brady would be any better. For years we talked about LSU having Elite WR, DT, and CBs along with all SEC OLs and RBs. They never had a truly great QB and if they got one would be next level. That happened in 2019. I’m not saying Brady isn’t a great X’s and O’s guy but he has no experience running a college program and really never worked under someone that has done that exceptionally well. Mullen spent 7 years under Urban Meyer. Say what you want about him, but he is one of the better college program builders.

I don’t know if Lebby gets better at managing the program and evaluating. Early returns aren’t great especially on the hiring front. But, I feel like Brady has more question marks in both of those areas than Lebby does.

Have to be careful with the offensive wizard types, and honestly, have to be sure they are actually wizards. Many are just moonlighting and are just another normal fundamental type coach (poor ones), who is just running a mainstream offense (Moorhead, Lebby).

True offensive 'wizard' i.e. 'system' coaches are folks like Leach, Malzahn, Rich Rod, Fritz, Paul Johnson, etc. Maybe Joe Brady is one of those too. But either way, his ability to actually be a head coach matters as well.

The guy with a career .303 winning percentage, and set the Giants record for losses in a season at 13. Not sure if he's really head coach material, but we are talking MSU football.

I love this during COVID with Saquan Barkley tearing his ACL oh and being saddled with Daniel Jones as a QB because the GM wouldn't admit he wasted a first pick? You're right he has no idea what he is doing let's not let facts get in the way of reality and the position he was put in.

Slight hijack. I don’t really follow NFL closely but I kept hearing the jokes about Jones being an interception machine. I looked at his stats and he has a higher TD to INT ratio than Aikman, Elway, and Jim Kelly. Really demonstrates how much the game has changed.
