She went down with very little contact, if you watch, she is hooking our guard at the same time. It was an unfortunate injury, but definitely not even from a hard foul. The remainder of the game the usc chicks were chirping and the crowd continued to boo all game. Even before the foul on juju, it looked like the directive was to fall as soon as there was any contact on every play.
It is shocking to see your best player suffer a season ending injury like that in the midst of a tournament run and I think the shock makes fans naturally tend to blame it on the other team. The foul was far from flagrant or even intentional and actually involved very little contact. She just got bumped between two players and stepped awkwardly on that leg. Fans are going to do their thing but the players should know better. If that is going to be their attitude I hope they get their butts beat going forward.
Poor USC! I can't believe they would let a bunch of lowlife Mississippi girls in Southern California. It must be nice to know your excrement doesn't smell like peasants.
I only see one player from either team involved in an “ugly exchange” in that video.
Fans are going to do what fans do but they were WAY out of line. #12's injury had nothing to do with anything remotely dirty. It probably had a lot to do with the fact she was playing with a bum ankle and her knee gave way due to the extra strain. It really pisses me off that they would treat our team like that.
From the replay it appears that Watkins actually initiated contact trying to push our player away with her left arm.
Well, we should at least be getting thank you notes from SC and Texas fans. 
Watching the clips of the game, the injury, and the final handshake are stark reminders of why women's basketball is a melodramatic Sh it Sh ow.
