Monday (1/9) is the birthday of Joan Baez. To celebrate:

Hard for me to believe, but the first time I saw Joan Baez in concert was as a freshman at Bucknell during the 1961-62 school year. The second time was the following summer at the Music Tent in Lambertville, NJ. She started the second half of her show there by introducing a scruffy guy who didn't sing all that well and was poorly received. It was not until some time later that I realized it was Bob Dylan. I think I had every one of her early Vanguard albums.

Genesis is pup; this is a fact. Except Land of Confusion, which is awesome.

Don't really listen much to terrestrial radio, but had a company vehicle this week and local FM station is celebrating David Bowie.....

I had to listen to the radio for a week in Scottsdale recently. It was torture. The only thing I could even tolerate was the local college channel. They worked in a Bowie song once and it was like water in the desert.
