the huge banner of Mullen on the southeast corner of the stadium is halfway down. Somebody please tell me that the storm that came through a few days ago did this. Without Meyer retiring, of course the storm tore it down but now, dammit!!!
I wouldn't be too alarmed by it. The season is over. Time to take it down to prevent wear and tear. Plus I figured it was just for this year to promote the program. There will probably be different banners up next year.
Yep. Thats what I was figuring but the fact that the big banner is still up on the southwest corner coupled with the Meyer situation just made me shake my head. I couldn't see from the road if there was a crew there working on it or not.
I seem to recall reading in The Reflector that the grand total of all the banners ran somewhere between 300K - 700K. I remember thinking that I thought maybe they should use that large sum of money to either adding more seats or paying off Croom (I swear if that man had any heart he'd be out stealing for a living.) But I think the banners are suppose to last for 3 or so years.
