where Ole Miss and Mississippi State were both playing the game for the sec championship? I'm pretty sure it never happened when the sec west was established but I could be wrong. I did absolutely no research into this.

As unlikely as it would be in today's times, I could only imagine what an egg bowl like that would be like now. Either Oxford or Starkville would burn to the ground.

I knew we won the SEC title and arguably the national title in 1941. My question was whether State and OM played an egg bowl where if state won they won the SEC or if OM won they won the sec. Basically like an SEC championship game between State and Ole Miss.<div>

a totally dubmass reply technique. Can't remember seeing that before. A tip of the dubmass hat to you, Joseph.

Not only is your reply technique wrong, but you don't even bother checking to see if the other guy is wrong. State and Ole Miss were both 3-0-1 in SEC play and the winner would get the SEC title. I think a tie would have caused a split title, but I'm not totally sure about the records. Nonetheless, the title was on the line for both teams.

I don't really post much. But my "dubmass" response was not to maroon eagle it was to dawgpile who misunderstood my post then deleted after he realized it. So basically this has turned into a cluster.
