on Genespage. Which you would think would be a sheepish representation of the guy.

After seeing it, I'm sorry- I still don't believe. He holds the ball too low- just like Tebow, and it looked like he just throws the ball up for grabs and then someone catches it and gets a lot of YACs. No way in hell he is 5'10" - unless I'm 6'2" and I'm actually 5'11". His arm strength is lacking as well- everything floats. He never sets his feet. This guy is a major project and apparently had a heck of an offensive coach to put up the stats that he did.

And he reminds me of- I'm sorry- Tyson Lee. You can say I'm scarred or whatever, but that's what he looks like.

Not calling you out Todd, just all the threads I have seen over the last few days debating how good this guy will be. I honestly don't care how good he will be. I think it was a good move by the staff. We offered and got the Gatoraid Player of the Year aGAIN. At the very least it shows a commitment to MS HS football and maybe the HS coaches will take notice. It is just one scholly. At the very least he will provide great depth. I just have no doubt in my mind that Mullen will be out there every year looking to sign quality QB's. Favre is just an insurance policy.

Then you have the off-chance that he turns out to be one of those rare players that overcomes any physical limitations he might have to be a superb college athlete. It could certainly happen. I guarantee you Mullen is not counting on that though. He is just signing up a readily available quarterback in his backyard that has shown that he can move an offense. I have no problem with it.

The bottom line is: We don't have to worry whether Favre has the makeup to be the QB of the future. If Favre assumes that role one day, it will because he is GOOD, not because he is all we have (see Lee, Tyson).

I've been looking for a free video of Favre, but can't find anything.

(1) Newton doesn't sign, then right after that, we sign Favruh, which superficially would indicate that he "took the place" of Newton; and (2) the last five or six years with a vertically challenged QB still has a bitter taste in the mouth of many. If it wasn't for those facts, and we signed him some other time, it would possibly be viewed in a better light. Having said that, I don't look for him to be an SEC caliber QB...sorry.

but that MFer was too expensive. We ended up getting the little white hyundai. Can't help but have that "well, ****" feeling.

...and the 2 year computer thief chose another school.

So we are now stuck with a 4 year guy who has has never stolen a computer (at least not that we know of).

We'll soon see who got the better bargain.

It's not a signing that makes me say "wow". But if he did end up tearing it up at USM, Memphis, etc, I would be pissed because he wanted to come here so bad. So with that and like I said earlier, offer him and if he sucks - we can part ways. Scholarships are year to year.

I am just saying that at this point, with what is available, it was a good move to offer him. I just believe that Mullen is going to have another Russell-caliber QB signed by the time Russell is a soph. Favre provides depth and could always beat the odds and become a good college QB.

I think that if you are trying to do what Mullen and Byrne are trying to do - dominate Mississippi, you have to sign the high school player of the year in Mississippi. We are not to the level where we can let All-Americans who want to sign with us go elsewhere. I am a firm believer that if we dominate in-state recruiting, we will become another Arkansas - a perennial 7-8 win team that sneaks up and wins 10 or 11 every few years - and that's okay by me.

Gatoraid Player of the Year, I would feel the exact same way.

Good move for whats available, position of need (depth), good PR within MS, still confident Mullen will land a bigger fish.

Just like the best college quarterback in the history of the NCAA? I'll take that.

If you don't see the difference between Favre and Tebow, I can't help you. And Tebow isn't that great of a passer himself.

...and the 2 year computer thief chose the only other school that so much as gave him the time of day. If that mf'er (Cambow) was going to lead us into the promised land of "the next level" and SEC championships like so many on these boards claimed, I never could understand why half the schools in this country weren't lined up fighting for his attention, or why Florida couldn't have somehow dealt with the little laptop theft problem and kept him. I don't think there is any question who got the better bargain for the long term. Thanks Auburn.

if you are saying MSU fans wouldn't be thrilled with a quarterback leaving here with Peyton's overall record, you are a goddamn idiot.
