D1 Baseball did a 4-team, 12-round mock fantasy draft on their podcast. The goal was to build a team to win this year (not future potential). They put dollar value on each player and each team had a fixed budget, so you had to look for value, not just take the best available.
KC was one of three State players taken along with Hancock and Logan Tanner. I guess Sims was too expensive for them to take and have money for the rest of the roster.
