somewhat of a subpar recruiting class. Certainly not as good as last years class at this point in the recruiting season. I know there still a lot of time left.

and, unless he changes his mind, he will come in January to our big recruiting weekend and may change his mind. Most of the players we have on board have wanted to come to us for a while. This is the time of the year where the the recruits who are being courted by multiple schools make there mind up and most are the more highly recruited players. We still are after numerous 4 star players which if we close well will give us another top 25 class. On top of that, Hevesey is making 2 star players into performers--see Addison Lawrence so I wouldn't look at the sky falling yet.

but would like to see us catch a few breaks. Maybe something good will happen soon...like next week.

Our big recruiting weekends are 1/15-17 and 1/22-24. The 15th is the major one for undecideds so we may get a trickle up to then, but that is the big date. If Newton were to commit soon we could use that as leverage for some of the players in January.

When a new coach comes in, you have to start over in recruiting. Yeah, Mullen came in and was able to hold on to the best of Croom's prospects.

But he is essentially starting over. And he's doing a pretty good job because he is Mullen. But he is still starting over. I expect next year will be a good bit better than his year.

had something to do with him getting the job and that experience has got to help on the recruiting trail too. Honestly, our recruiting class will be fine.

They have gone back to the Pat Dye days of doing things on the plains. chizik was the DC at the time of Jetgate and he had already agreed to stay on as DC if Petrino came in. He is just a puppet for Dye. If you think the Kiffen may be shady, he has nothing on Trooper and Luper.

there is no guarantee on robinson so we might be signing all plan B and Cs.

but yeah he looks to be a Plan B or C. Real possibility we could sign 3 OL with no other BCS offers. I figure if we don't get Gates or Robinson we have to take Darone Bailey or Donald Hawkins, with no other offers period. Awesome. Hope Tyler Russell is drinking plenty of milk, or he'll be calling Fant asking which pain killers are the strongest.

I've got a gut feeling we get robinson...

how many others with legit BCS offers would we need if we land robinson to make it a legit year for OL ?

but at this point, Robinson is really the only one still out there for us. Remember, we are already using one oline spot on Clausell who pretty much had no interest from anyone worth mentioning.

unless we go out and get a JUCO LT next year. Lawrence could slide over for one year, but that would just give a redshirt year to this year's tackle and doesn't answer to plays RT. I hope they know something I don't. Maybe we have a couple of five-star JUCO tackles ready to commit next year. Hopefully they aren't from Arizona.

that we started 4 olinemen this year that were about as touted as Day and Bailey.

I will admit that while I love signing good offensive line prospects, its also probably the single biggest wild card position out there.
