Sir, it seems to be the trend, to get a head start.
For those of you who don’t know: Kendall is already talking to the coaches we’re going after. He probably said that because he isn’t alone in that opinion.
Yeah, I thought we'd wait until the end, but you're correct as you say. Might be best to put our opening out there in the minds of all the coaches who might be dreaming of coaching in the Dude with the fanbase we have.
Awe. He can mourn with Rosebowl while the rest of us celebrate!!
Honestly, I would have done it at the end of the season too. But 17 Kendall Rogers. Coaches get fired mid-season all the time and Lemonis used up all his goodwill from winning that title a couple of years ago.

Our job opened on February 20th last time, and we hired someone I had never heard of after striking out on all of our top choices.
I wonder if Rogers looked at the players Lemonis won that NC with, or if he's looked at Lemonis' record since the NC. The following two years we went 9-21 in conference play and staring that in the face again this year.

Shut the hell up Kendall. You don’t know what you’re talking about. It’s been 4 freaking years since the national championship with only one regional appearance.
The talk was that if you wait until after the end of the season, you wouldn’t have to pay as much buyout.
Before I get p1ssed off again after the hire, I'll give some credit to Selmon. He at least canned Arnett and Lemonis without waiting until the end of the season.
Disagree, he was already given time, 2 wasted years, a minor rebuild and another failure this year. He isn’t owed more time
Tell him to take a number. If I had a dollar for every time that I have been disappointed in Mississippi State over the 40 years, our NIL budget would be second to none.
They had to do something. It was affecting the fan base for all the sports. The natives are restless, and the fingers were being pointed at Selmon. Good first step!

He led our school to its first ever baseball national title, and one day he'll be deservedly recognized for that. However, since 2021, he's also been paid $4M for a whole lot of nothing, so spare me the pity party. This is a new age of college athletics, and no one from the place kicker to the head coach is owed a damn thing beyond what's written in their contracts. Perform or move on

It is the best thing to do in today's era of sports. I said this before but it isn't about what you did in the past but what you do in the present and what the plan is for the future.
Kudos for Selmon, so much talk he doesn't care but obviously he does. # more weeks were not gonna make a big difference, reason why are 5 things. Fundamentals sucks in hitting, base running, pitching, lineup changes and recruiting. We are not good in any, we do have a couple good NIL players but lack of overall talent is questionable.
I am so disappointed in Kendall's that I would cancel my D1Baseball if I didn't want to read the Hot Board he will up later today. He should thank MSU for driving traffic to his site.
The termination before the end of the season only makes sense if you are actively searching for a replacement during the last few weeks of the season. We cannot wait until after the CWS to announce a hire.
Does Kendall Roger’s believe we care what he thinks? Surely not.
It also makes sense if you want to fire your coach and preempt the possibility of the team finishing 6-3 in the conference and sneaking into the tournament.
Kendall is the most connected media member in college baseball.
Do we care what Kendall personally thinks? No.
Do we care what the coaches he is in communication with regarding our job opening think? Hell, yes.
Nah, he's a Texas guy 17 him! Nobody really gives two ***** what he thinks. Coaches know what State baseball is and if Lemonhead can win it here, anyone can.
Ehhh don't give him too much credit. He was forced into this one. I have my doubts as to whether it would have been done at all, if left up to Zack.
