Penn State linebacker Kobe King makes stay or go decision; is he coming back or going to the NFL?
Penn State football redshirt junior linebacker Kobe King has declared his plans for the 2025 season. Here's what it is.
I believe enough of our core are returning.Yesterday people were saying we would be preseason #3. Today we lost our best LB and top 2 WR.

I’m not sure losing our top 2 WRs is all that harmful. I blame Allar more than most on here but when your “top” WR averaged 3 receptions and 48 yards per game, you’d better hope you have something better in the pipeline.Yesterday people were saying we would be preseason #3. Him leaving leaves a major defensive gap.Stings a bit because of his experience and talent, which is to say a good college LB. I don’t see him getting drafted TBH. We’re paper thin at LB.
Does Rojas move to MLB and the youngsters fill in at WLB? Deluca is not starting MLB material.Him leaving leaves a major defensive gap.
Wallace struggled to catch balls in traffic but he still had > 700 yds. He would have had more targets next year with Warren gone.I’m not sure losing our top 2 WRs is all that harmful. I agree about King. Probably a special teamer in the NFL.The only problem with bringing in external WR's is that they never seem to get on the same page as the QB.
ergo.... Dante Cephas.
I wish Kobe luck. I don't know why he thinks he's NFL caliber, but I applaud his confidence.
For as good or bad as he was last season, there wasn't anyone on the roster that was better. I don't think either of the transfers coming in are better. So for the second straight year we lose our top WR without a realistic path to improving the roomPrecisely 720 yards in 15 games. Or 48.0 yards per game, which is pathetic from the team’s top producing WR. Could he have improved here next year? Possibly, but (as of now) he’d have the same guy throwing to him, the same guy coaching him, and with the departure of Warren might command more attention from opposing defenses. He’s more of a depth loss than a quality loss. It will be a disaster if there is no WR on the roster come September who can produce more than 48 yards per game.
The Transfer Portal offers a very realistic path for improvement. For as good or bad as he was last season, there wasn't anyone on the roster that was better. Not very realistic unless the budget and asset allocation model changeThe Transfer Portal offers a very realistic path for improvement.
Rojas is not the answer @ MLB. Either T. Robinson steps up or they need a starter portal MLB.Does Rojas move to MLB and the youngsters fill in at WLB? Deluca is not starting MLB material.
Wylie and Nelson will be back from injury. Speca is young but got a little playing time last year. It may be a little late for a portal starter to be found.Rojas is not the answer @ MLB. Either T. Robinson steps up or they need a starter portal MLB.
As yet, we haven't been able to utilize it to properly upgrade our WR room. Hopefully that changes this cycle. The Transfer Portal offers a very realistic path for improvement.
Even though we didn't see much production (outside of the huge catches to save the season against USC), you'd have to assume that Fleming was an upgrade to what we had based on his playing time. Same with Cephas, he played a bunch so we obviously needed him. Tinsley had a nice season for us and is still hanging on in the NFL.As yet, we haven't been able to utilize it to properly upgrade our WR room. Hopefully that changes this cycle.
Impatience and both direct and indirect peer pressure...as you know wisdom comes when you ageI think both Kings made a premature leap to the NFL. Both could have used another season to rehab their playing image ... Kalen to try to get back to where he was the year prior, and Kobe to prove he's better in coverage and quicker overall. Not sure why they were both so intent on leaving when their NFL futures were murky upon departure.
Or Tez Johnson. Oh, wait a minute. The only problem with bringing in external WR's is that they never seem to get on the same page as the QB.

I think maybe he was referring to PSU portal WRs and PSU’s QB. Though to be fair, the non-portal WRs and PSU’s QB weren’t on the same page either.Or Tez Johnson. Oh, wait a minute.
Looking at a sample size of only a handful of WRs and only one team is not a good way to evaluate success of portal WRs. Need to look at how they have done with all teams.I think maybe he was referring to PSU portal WRs and PSU’s QB. Though to be fair, the non-portal WRs and PSU’s QB weren’t on the same page either.
Time to start freshman like 2005, that workout pretty well. For as good or bad as he was last season, there wasn't anyone on the roster that was better.
