Martin's teams seem to always play their best at the end of the season. I don't know that the schedule matches up well for a run the last five games though. We'll see.

On the game's last play what is the advantage of not guarding the person in bounding the ball? I know you have 5 guarding 4 but the player throwing the ball in has clear view of the floor. Kind of like not rushing the quarterback.

Because they know that the chances of that shot going in are closer to none than anything. 9/10 - we're going to double OT.

Why do I feel like this team is buying in just in time for NIT consideration
Because this is the same time of year that Martin's teams almost always make us think there's a chance. But it's almost always fool's gold.

We'll rarely suck under Martin. His defenses will always be good enough to keep us around .500 in conference play. But his offenses will always be bad enough to keep us around .500 in conference play. Throw in a few ugly early-season non-conference losses EVERY SINGLE YEAR, and it means we'll almost always be a team that _flirts_ with the bubble with 5 or 6 games left in the season, only to come up short of the tournament.

I'm still hoping for a miracle finish to this season, but I should know better by now.

It should always be about the kids. Somewhere on here we’ve lost our compass.

Frank knows what he can recruit & how to get the best out of them.
Some here would luv if we dug up John wooden & propped him up in a court side seat.

Some would like to see us in the upper tier of SEC programs. We have flashed through there before. It wouldn't be unprecedented.

Oh, meant to ask earlier, what makes u think Ward is a bead stringer?……..I’m gonna roll the dice & say he’s one of the predestined.😎

Spoil me some more, while I'm still on this side of the grass.
Well, u we’re already gone. Riker holding his hand up (throwing the bird), for gawd knows how long, to the student section.

I kept looking at him & back at the bench to see how long he’d hold his hand up before Frank would notice.
As I recall game vs Layden (btw still alive) & Niagara……..but coulda been against the Bonnie’s.

In the W/L numbers game we are more closely positioned for the NIT than the NCAAT. I'm at my annual ho hum thoughts for anything miraculous occurring.
I agree but if we were to win 3 out of our last 5 and get a couple of wins in the SEC tournament I think that should be enough to put us on the bubble. The SEC is considered a very good league this season.

It's not beyond the realm. It's still a high hill to climb.

For us, on the bubble = left out of the tournament. The selection committee simply doesn't give us the benefit of the doubt.

But I don't even think we make that interesting.

Exactly, every single year. And that is when I stop paying attention to basketball because I know it is groundhog day. I just go to sleep on the season and hope Frank wakes up the next year and does something different....because as we have seen, Tanner ain't going to do anything different.

Tanner probably doesn't have the free reign he ought to so that he can do something different.

A wooden zombie as coach yelling brains would give us a lot of exposure on ESPN
