TAMPA, Fla. (AP)-Kodi Augustus scored a career-high 19 points, Jarvis Varnado added 14 points and 12 rebounds and Mississippi State beat Georgia 79-60 Thursday in the opening round of the Southeastern Conference tournament.

Augustus, a backup averaging 5.4 points a game, was 6 of 9 from the field and 3 of 4 from 3-point range - a surprising hot streak for a guy who came into the tournament shooting just 22 percent (4 of 18) from behind the arc.

Kodi had a good game today? I hadn't seen that on the board yet. Thanks

some of you Stansbury worshippers. Look, I like Stansbury but you need to realize that there is a very good possiblility Stansbury did a poor coaching job that 8 game stretch before the Florida game. I don't know what Augustus has done to piss Stansbury off but apparently Stansbury needs to get over it. If Augustus leaves, it looks to me like Stansbury will be coaching for his job next year.

Yeah I am furiouos that we have won 3 in a row. That doesnt even make sense. I do think it is funny how you are trying to treat Kodi like the victim here and lay all of the blame on Stansbury. typical for this board. This place and gene's Page combined is concrete proof that we absolutely have the dumbest fanbase in the country

And you would rather live and die by the 3 than start a 6'8 PF..

Great game, maybe Stans will be forced to play Kodi b/c the Ninja is watching...

but let's try type this out and see how it reads...

Kodi, Stansbury is the coach, and you are one in a long line of numnuts that can hit a jump shot. Try shutting your stupid *** baby mouth, grab a rebound every now and then, maybe do a little more than wave at your counterpart as he goes in for uncontested layup, and you can do what you've been doing for the past couple weeks all the time, probably for a tournament team next year. OR, you can keep shilling for a transfer, get what you want, ride the pine (AGAIN) for a year for a mid major. An maybe play your way to a European pro contract. Good luck.

That being said, AWESOME game today. Keep it up.

Your first post was rather defensive. Your second post made it look as though I was questioning your father's manhood. Apparently you don't like to look at things objectively. As someone posted earlier, if Bailey doesn't get hurt, then what? Do YOU think Bailey is better than Augustus? If your answer is NO, then I would imagine you should have some questions for Stansbury as well.

No I would rather play the best line up possible, and for a while it was the 4 guard line up

The problem is that we will never know the truth... But if today was any indication, then Stans made a Big mistake sitting Kodi..
