Is Beamer going to let him get meaningful snaps this year or will he go into 2024 with only playing against Furman. What better place than TA&M to gain experience, good defense and a hostile environment. He has three games that he can play in and still keep his redshirt so let him play when it matters. I personally don’t see this happening. Can you imagine the backlash if he came in and out shined Rattler after the way they handle the running back room? So, Rattler is the guy until he and he alone decides he’s done and not before that. I just hope they can get Sellers some in game experience when it matters before the end of the season. Who knows he may not even be here next year.

Sellers does need to get some playing time before next year. Unless the coaches have written next year off already due to the brutal schedule. Maybe they don't think it'll make much difference whether Sellers has had playing time or not.
I'm not worried about him outshining Rattler. QB is the one and only asset this team has had this year. But Sellers does need experience.

Sellers should only play in a blowout. Whether we are up or down.
He needs experience, but Rattler is carrying this team, and doesn't need to be benched for "next year" while we have slim hopes of bowl eligibility. Imho

I would not put him out there given the state of our OL, unless the game is over by the end of the 3rd.
I hope I'm wrong, but I fear it'll be over long before the end of the 3rd.
A&M should be able to blow up our OL.
Saving grace, I guess, is that I read their OL has been pretty bad as well.

haha, I guess stranger things have happened? I haven't followed them all that much, but an A&M pub I was reading said their OL has been almost as bad as ours.
Spencer Rattler is playing some of the best football at the QB position in the country and you really think a freshman even as talented as Lanorris would come in and outshine him behind that OL with that running game with XL probably out and Juice out? You'd probably get the young man hurt is what would happen.
I don't see us having any blowout wins left, so that limits us to blowout losses, which probably means A&M is the best shot.

Just assuming we won't have 10 guys go down with injuries. We're taking some lumps with some really talented freshmen this year that should be improved next year. Getting Henry and Anderson back healthy will be huge. Anderson had essentially won the starting job (or at least the 2 deep) before injuries started mounting. Henry had missed the spring and summer, and won a starting job based on his fall camp performance alone, then got hurt on the fist play of the year.
Best thing for the OL is continuity. And we've had ZERO continuity this year due to inuries.
Sellers will be Sellers next year regardless of ‘meaningful snaps’ this year; you can already see some are expecting Joe Montana incarnate. To be so he would need players around him (see Connor Shaw) that would enable him to impact games; we’re not there with that. Every possession, geez every snap, is a crap shoot due to the shortcomings and/or issues we have; our qb thus does not have the luxury of progressions/check downs/etc that fans hear discussed by talking heads. Ours is a take the snap, hope someone will work to get some quick separation, ditch OB, or take off. Sellers would not be afforded an opportunity to ‘learn on the job’, it would just be a see if he can make something happen, and he can do that next year.
