I had posted last Friday if he loses the series against South Carolina he has to be fired. He has won four straight. If he can keep winning he can save his job.
Here is how I see it: He possibly can and you might be right, but just how high is the winning bar set to save his job and how long can/will he keep it up is another question I have of him? I still don’t trust him to recruit and both do the kind of coaching some of the guys we could hire I feel like can do here. Let’s say he did save his job, I’m still not sure I can ever trust him or have much faith in him. Unless he shows me something spectacular basically. I do love winning but I just don’t see it with Lemonis. He’s no doubt reading the writing on the wall and feels the pressure that’s for sureI had posted last Friday if he loses the series against South Carolina he has to be fired. I think he will save his job if we make the NCAAs.Here is how I see it: He possibly can and you might be right, but just how high is the winning bar set to save his job and how long can/will he keep it up is another question I have of him? Win out including a NC and I would extend contract by a year.I had posted last Friday if he loses the series against South Carolina he has to be fired. He has won four straight. If he can keep winning he can save his job.
Seems to be going about how I was thinking coming in. We’ll be just good enough to justify keeping his job.I had posted last Friday if he loses the series against South Carolina he has to be fired. He has won four straight. If he can keep winning he can save his job.
#polk2We will be a 3 seed and he will stayHe's harder to get rid of than a toe nail fungus.
I’ve said he deserves this year. Here is how I see it: He possibly can and you might be right, but just how high is the winning bar set to save his job and how long can/will he keep it up is another question I have of him? Yes the emotional roller coaster some of these clowns are on is hilariousHe’s still got some work to do but the over-reactors that call for a mid-season change at every juncture are being proved as idiots so that’s nice
If we are a 3 seed and don’t make a super I think he goes.We will be a 3 seed and he will stayHe's harder to get rid of than a toe nail fungus.
Don't play with my emotions. Are we certain Lemon was even coaching last night?
Could this year end up similar to the 2022 year did for Ole Miss? Not saying we win the natty, but we barely squeak into the tournament and make a run at least to a super or CWS? I feel you gotta keep him then.
I don’t think there’s any doubt he saved his job if he makes the tournament. And he very well might. Still a long road to it though. Have to get 10 more SEC wins with 17 games remaining. Schedule gets much easier after this weekend though. But I still don’t see anything that makes me think he’s going to get us back to hosting & winning regionals, much less the CWS again. So the sooner he’s gone the better for me.I think he will save his job if we make the NCAAs.
You can debate whether he should be fired. Plenty of folks will be fighting mad if he’s retained. But I don’t think he will be fired if we make the tournament. If Selmon has an excuse not to pay buyout money, he’s not going to pay it.
If we make the tournament this team will have shown a heck of a lot of improvement after the worst SEC start we’ve ever had. A win today or tomorrow would give us a tiny bit of breathing room down the stretch.
Yep. We’ve both been saying this for a couple of years now. And it’s true. We’re in baseball purgatory.#polk2

In 2018 we started conference play 4-8 and made it to the CWS semis. It really depends on if we can get hot at the right timeCould this year end up similar to the 2022 year did for Ole Miss? He needs more than four straight... more than a couple of series. I don't have any set numbers; I need to feel differently about our baseball program than I did the last few years. I'm glad we won, yet we need more than a few wins. I will admit we have to start somewhere. You'll have to look over my doubts about our current coaches.Yep. Imagine winning a second NC at Mississippi State and Selmon not giving him a multi-year dealWin out including a NC and I would extend contract by a year.
Do you regret campaigning for him to be retained after 2023? You were the most vocal Lemonis supporter#polk2
I’ve been pretty positive on the team this year, though got more pessimistic with LSU and Oklahoma losses because I don’t think either are that good. I was less upset about Texas because I did think they were pretty good, and that’s played out. I think if we can at least get into postseason, we have enough pieces to make some noiseI'm not predicting anything, but I've had the feeling all season that this team has the potential to be very good. They weren't showing it much early other than competing with elite teams, but then losing basically every time.
We'll see, but these past 4 games have been encouraging.
So we’re talking ab a natty now? Common we probably won’t make the SECTImagine winning a second NC at Mississippi State and Selmon not giving him a multi-year deal
I think there would be State fans who would STILL want him gone.
Everyone makes the SECT now. I expect us to fall short of a regional invitation. So it’s all moot.So we’re talking ab a natty now? Common we probably won’t make the SECT
IFYPFYAt a minimum, Win out including a NC and I would consider extending the contract by a year.
No. It’s not that I really wanted him back (I’ve told the story of how he treated me many times and I also never liked his crootin strategy) but I also realized we might shouldn’t fire our natty winning coach so soon.Do you regret campaigning for him to be retained after 2023?
