They will be on their second road trip in a row. South Carolina will probably beat them and eliminate them once and for all from playoff contention. They haven't been great on the road.

At least we will have another game where we can learn a little something. The previous tests have not been great. Got to show something to sell hope for next year.

We will see on the Egg Bowl. LSU going down to the Swamp, things may get dicey for Bubba and Loaferz, may get some chaos there for Kiffin. And if Bubba somehow wins, maybe they get momentum for the Ole Miss game and eliminate them. I've seen weirder things. Plus, if they are on the outside looking in of playoff, even at 9-2, how motivated would they be.

Completely agree. Since this team has gotten better we only played one middle of the road team and we **** the bed. We need to get a win or be in the hunt for one.

The optimism that this team might win a game, or play someone close, never ceases to amaze me. We just got clocked by a TN team playing a horrible backup QB for 1/2 of the game. We're not playing Missouri close, unless by "close" you mean within 20 points.
I just don’t think MO is very good. Now we are terrible but if we play clean and they make mistakes I could see us winning that game. Do I expect we will play clean, history certainly doesn’t suggest it.

In order to play Mizzou, or any other team for that matter, we need a defense that is not dead and bloated. We do not have that, or anything close to it, therefore we will not play Mizzou close. Our defense is absolutely atrocious and that is not going to change at this point in the season.

There was that one glimmer the other night when tenner just thought they'd shove it into the end zone and we actually didn't allow it.

I can hope that mizzou comes to town with vanilla in the playbook.

This team is worse than anything Croom ever put on the field. And it's not really close.
Totally disagree. Croomcoast offense couldn’t complete a forward pass and had a once in a generation rb in Norwood who ran a dang 4.3. Croom was criminally atrocious. Also the SEC was down during his tenure. Alabama was at a low, LSU struggled etc. Our OOC opponents were cupcakes and we lost to Maine with twice as much talent than our current team has.

What is this "clean" you speak of?
Think about what we do at critical points to hold a team to one score or get back to less than one score. It’s the opposite of that. Baby steps though. Next game, make sure we have more than a seven yard discrepancy between passing yards and penalties.

This is what it boils down to. Croom definitely had enough talent to be better than he was.

The talent level at the moment is abysmal.

This coaching staff has got to bring in a more talented haul this off season through both recruiting and the portal. It needs to show on paper and on the field next year. Otherwise, let's burn it down and start over yet again.

So does Lenny.

Crazy that you all continually ignore the bad coaching.

I just don’t think MO is very good.
FL and AR "aren't very good" either but we gave up 45 and 58 points to them. Mizzou's only losses are to A&M and AL. On paper they will beat us like a meat tenderizer beats a cheap steak

Even a blind hog finds a acorn every now and then. We got a week off to get healthy and for these great coaches to get them corched up. Gotta have faith. Besides this is the last chance. Lane is gonna do unspeakable things to us in the Egg Bowl. There will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth. Lane is probly gonna make Lebby squeal like a pig

Yeah they were. Huepel bled the last quarter and a half for his friend. They could have easily put up 3 more scores. They were on the doorstep at 0:00

Used to work together, Heupel was not going to embarrass him. kiffin, now that’s another story.
Totally believable* Huepel is going easy on poor Lebby when Heupel is trying to make sure UTK is in the playoffs. Huepel isn't risking millions for himself and his University for a professional relationship. It's ok to acknowledge that our defense made some 4th down stands and held them to a bunch of field goals. We still lost by 19, and they still had their back up qb in for a half.

we need a full stadium and win badly. I think Missouri is very beatable. However, I'm not sure we are capable. We shall see.

it would be nice to have a large crowd for the Mo game. However Gun season (deer) opens Nov 23. We will be lucky to have 30k.

the egg bowl is going to be very ugly. I may deer hunt that day myself.

Did you watch the game? He ran straight inside runs with less than 5 seconds on the play clock the entire 4th quarter unless they were in obvious passing downs. They threw it three times in the 4th quarter and once in the final 10 minutes. They had the ball at our 27 with 2:30 left and kneeled it on our 3 to run out the clock.

Couldn't agree more GOAT. This is well said and makes a lot of sense. Crazy this is where we are, but it is what it is. Have to find a way to show improvement and go out on a positive note.
