I‘ll pass. The light colors inside don’t do it for me.

It’s a bit ornate (inside) for my taste; I like more modern details with an emphasis on minimalist/mid century design. Two pro athletes I know just built new houses and I’m really excited to see what they do with them. Neither were quite this expensive, but close…and of course not in LA.

Just a random though I read recently......

What are some strange things the ultra wealthy tend to do?

"I often find strange the things people would rather have than money."

This house is at 24 Browntown Road in Asheville, North Carolina.

"It has five bedrooms and three kitchens.
(24 Browntown Rd, Asheville, NC 28803)
One of the kitchens is small and seems to be part of a very nice housekeeper's suite. The other two are huge and include plenty of space for an entire culinary school.
I'm baffled by the need for so many kitchens. I understand the one in the housekeeper's suite, a little bit. But two enormous kitchens for only one family? Just one would be plenty for any well-organized caterer.
Besides, if I were so rich I could afford a $10M+ house, damned if I'm cooking anything myself. I'm hiring a chef to cook and footmen to serve and they are getting only one kitchen which I will never enter.
In the end analysis, preferences are very personal things and we all have our indulgences which are incomprehensible to others. I buy store brand jam but my in-laws like the name brand stuff. I choose subcompact cars with excellent mileage but my husband chose a pickup truck.
If I ever get so rich that I can afford a $10M+ house, I hope I will chose to stay in the house I have now and spend the money to help the children in my town get better educations. Maybe I could buy and rehabilitate houses in poor neighborhoods and open centers with video games, televisions, and tutors."

I use one kitchen for fried foods only so the smell does not get into the rest of the house.
And I do have a chef. Actually, two of them One for fried foods only.
The small kitchen is just for the maid. I don't want her to use the main kitchens.

And why are you taking pics of my house Step? :giggle:

My mansion has three coffee bars, each with a full-time staff of young female baristas, but that’s just me.

Guessing that was a tough agent to coach phone call after the Illinois game.

“OK coach, USC is rapidly going in a different direction. Incredibly, PSU still wants to negotiate with us on a new contract. Call me crazy, but we somehow still have leverage. No idea why after this weekend but here we go. Just as an aside, 9 overtimes? Really?? “

Franklin probably kicking himself, could have been him had he not s**t the bed the last cpl yrs..

Could the family that built it have been Jewish. Perhaps one kitchen is kosher and the other not? I know families that go so far as to have separate appliances, etc to keep kosher.

Excellent observation, when my son in law's Orthodox brother travels or visits, strict cooking standards must be met.

BobPSU92, can you verify this? I just feel perky posting rumors.. 🤥 TIA

There are quite a few celebrities who, not knowing what to do with their enormous wealth, spend it on completely outlandish things. None quite as outlandish, however, as Jennifer Lopez. She employed a ‘professional nipple-tweaker’ to ensure her nipples were always perky.

You know, some girls have those naturally perky nipples, the type that just stands at attention like a brave saluting soldier at any time of the day, clearly visible through fabric. Others have the more soft, puffy type or perhaps slightly inverted nipples that would not show through fabric. And Lopez really wanted hers to appear perky at all times.

So Jennifer had — I kid you not! — a man following her around, ensuring peak nipplage at all times and keeping the girls nice and perked up at all times. Yes, this is an actual job, and yes, it’s apparantly good money. Why she did it, nobody knows. Maybe, we never will know. Did she not want to be photographed, perhaps, fondling her own boobs endlessly? Did she want someone professional looking touching her chest region in what appeared to be a simple adjusting of clothes from a stylist, while really he was on a secret mission to erect her fleshy raisins?

That's not the way it works. You either keep kosher or you don't.

A strictly observant family might have two kitchens: one to prepare meat dishes and another for dairy. Not entirely necessary since only the utensils with which the food comes into contact have to be dedicated, though separate kitchens would help avoid incidental contact which could be problematical.

A third? For Passover, which has it's own more restrictive dietary laws, but then a fourth would be needed to, again, separate meat from dairy.

Without getting the details of the floorplan, it could be that they have one kitchen for family dining and one for when they have large parties at their house and they don't want the caterer/help in their family kitchen.

But in any case, this has nothing to do with the traffic or taxes in the greater Los Angeles area.

Kitchens are the social hubs of homes; why have two kitchens? Why not?
