that the Junction has been a great addition, but it didn't help us win a single game.

There are all kinds of things you can do to improve the campus and the atmosphere that make a better impression on alumni, visitors and prospective students and prospective athletes.

near Lloyd Ricks or remove the concrete platform. It looks kinda dumb as is. Just a big concrete block with a plaque telling about a statute that's not there.

the AD to embrace it, spend time on it, etc.

They are like anyone else. They should all have expectations about what they are to produce in fundraising, event by event. Unless they can call the shots, they really can't afford to get super involved. I'm sure they are grateful for the money that is raised. And I'm sure they can show up and show their support. But, that's really about it.

Having a fund raising drive specifically for a men's sport... would that cause Title IX problems? The basketball practice facility is one thing since it's for m's & w's. But baseball would cause a problem, no?

....send out a communication saying "We're not going to expand the stadium, and here's why. But we do want to IMPROVE the stadium, and here's what you can do to help."

Things to improve:

1. Renovate bathrooms
2. Add speakers in the concourses/bathrooms with Jack/Jim.
3. Take the TVs we actually have at concession stands and put the jumbotron feed on them instead of Northland Damn Cable. (I hate going up to the concession stand and seeing the Lincoln Financial or CBS game instead of the one on the field right behind us.) Attempt to get sponsorship to pay for adding TVs at every concession stand with the Jumbotron feed and Jack & Jim (a la Auburn).
4. Find whoever has turned down the master volume knob on the Jumbotron and beat them silly.

plans were put into place to do something to the softball complex. Wouldn't have to be much. Say we launch a fundraiser to expand the grandstand AND put a brick facade in place at the softball park. That would mean that 90% of the money would go into Dudy Noble, but just including the softball program in the plan would probably be good enough.

It is ridiculous that I as a student can go get student tickets for something like $21. I know the argument that we dont already sell out the ones we give for so cheap. But the fact of the matter is that pretty much all student who are willing to pay $21 A YEAR for tickets would be willing to pay $40 or $50 A YEAR for student tickets. That could generate thousands of extra revenue dollars to do things like fix bathrooms and stadium cups.

If Stansbury has felt as under-appreciated as some here would have you think, why hasn't he shown any interest in one of many good jobs that have come open since these rumors started?

Futuba, maybe I didn't phrase it right, but there are folks in the administration who don't even know what there job is and I don't think anybody needs to be alienated ,but some need a swift kick in their butts to be motivated. The Ticket office manager complained to the Bulldog club staff when her staff had to work a little harder because we got a bowl bid. I might be slow, but I thought that was the goal of our football team every year. I realize that was under LT's guidance but that teells me a lot about motivation.

Maybe Stansbury loves MSU and Starkville but would like for someone who is his boss to tell him the truth, honor the committments he has made to the basketball program, and simply wants someone who is happier when he wins than hoping he fails. Sounds reasonable to me. Just to help you understand, Croom has one winning season and the AD is screaming for an extension. Stans wins the SEC west 4 out of 6 yearss and I haven't seen one word about extending his contract any. Seems a little odd to me.

about small things...logos and branding are just that. Hell, they could actually be considered big things. The walking bully is out of date and looks dumb as hell.

I don't know a single person that likes it.

But, I think they should re-start the Student Bulldog Club, and give perks to students for joining, such as season pass for basketball tickets (instead of going to get in line every Monday). This could also help current students get involved in the Bulldog Club and help them start their lifetime giving.

Also, make something for young alumni that dont have the money to join the BC right out of school, or see the benefit because they know they cant give enough money to get the decent seats.

I think getting these two groups involved will go along way in helping out funding and BC membership.

Update the bathrooms at DNF. A couple hundred bucks on paint and new toilet seats would sure help.

The first thing Greg Byrne needs to do is walk into the first meeting with the AD when he takes over and pick out the biggest meanest mofo in the meeting and just beat his *** into the ground.

And what's wrong with you ******** talking about getting rid of the walking bulldog logo? The walking bulldog logo is a classic logo. I would say that if anyone touches that logo, their hands should be chopped off.

What should be done is to change the mascot's uniform back to the old bully that didn't freakin' have elephant ear jowels and give the job to someone who actually seems to care that they are the mascot. For the past few years, whoever is wearing the bully outfit seems to be on sedatives or they just don't give a ****. I remember the days when bully used to actually get out there and have fun, do backflips, fight the other mascots, whatever.

Also they should shoot whoever picks the music for the football games. It's like hearing a Lawrence Welk show at your grandparents house. Put some cool loud *** up to date music on and piss off every blue haired bastard in the stadium.

Also pack the damn canon with some real *** ammo and make it as loud as it used to be. If you're an old bastard at a game and you can't take the noise, then keep your old geratol *** at home.

Another thing that pisses me off is that you can go to Columbus, even Starkville and go to a sporting goods store and there is literally more Ole Miss and Bama merchandise then State, what the hell is up with that???

Make it a law for any frat daddy at a game wearing some other school's shirt or hat because he is too cool to wear state's colors to be beaten with his own hush puppies.

as i recall, we already pay about $4500. $21 is fine. as a student you should be rewarded with going to games for cheaper. or free as the case in basketball and baseball.

Tell him the wins are nice, but we need to do something about the extra-curricular stuff.

/I am shocked Croom went to a bowl game, and equally as shocked at how many of our players have been in trouble.

The whole point of the thread was just to list little things that could be done. Nowhere did DS mention "things that would take us to the top of the SEC".

Don't any of the things people listed bother you about MSU? They sure as hell bother me, and would mostly be easy to fix.

During certain games last year, like Alabama especially, you couldn't FIT in the student section- there were about twice as many people as seats. That's why they started giving out wristbands to even get in the student section, and if you don't get there early you can't get in. So who is saying "we don't even sell the ones we have" and what is their reasoning?

I know many people that like the walling bully. I have a magnetic one on the tailgate of my 08 maroon Sport Trac Limited and I get many compliments concerning it. Many people ask me how is State doing. It's not any kind of official logo for State so no AD is going to do anything about it no matter how trivial.

The walking bully is much better than the redundant "M'' that many schools already have.

I think the best logo is the interlocking MSU like State has on the baseball caps.

he is one tall dude. We talked about how the Alumni ages 23-45 has not aggresively been pursued for donations for years. He told me he has already started a campaign to target this age group. He asked me if I was a season ticket holder in baseball and we never discussed the coaching situation/search. He is a nice guy and he is trying to set up a visit or phone call to my terminally ill mother , from Jackie Sherrill and Coach Croom. She always loved Ole John Bond and knew his folks really well and he is going to try and get John to go make a personal visit to her as well. He has my approval! Good guy !

Oem, I believe it because he has despised Stansbury since Portera decided to override and told him we were not going to hire Reboul. If he had his way, Rick would have already gone somewhere and if you don't believe it, you haven't talked to many folks. Templeton has done little if anything to help Rick and from the first time he lied to Rick till now, there is no love lost there either way. Rick has taken the high road because he had to do so. I can only wonder if Croom had won the SEC west in football 4 out of 6 years, how he would have acted. This is nothing against Sly but LT definitely holds grudges and thank God his *** is gonna be gone soon.

get rid of the m-state logo...especially from on the football helmets....the interlocking ms on the baseball hats would be a traditionaly perfect logo for everything....get the maroon color thing fixed.......these are quick and easy things that could get started on day one....i think it would generate excitement and mabee he could even get the people's oppinions on these type things.

Get rid of that damn blow up helmet that the football team runs thru! Build a permanent Dawg House type structure, paint it maroon with white paw prints or something on it. ANYTHING other than the stupid middle school looking helmet!

Forget fixing the bathrooms, wire it for sound, I could care less as long as the toilet flushes, oh wait.
Concession stands - better tv's than the Sanyos and a feed from the Jumbotron
No more white Uniforms or MState Logo please
Fire Hank Flick I agree with

I'd rather see Flick bring his basketball persona to football.

That is one of MANY things that need to change to liven up the stadium.

1. go out and make it more public about specific funds for a basketball practice facility, jumbotron, etc. ( This means taking $100's from the average joe as well as the usual large donors. make the people who arent millionares feel more a part of the giving.

2. standardize the color of maroon is a great idea. there's at least 5 different shades around campus.

3. Hire the Right guy for the baseball coaching position. This is the one sport we have that we can probably get a prominent coach, not just an in-house assistant.

when you wait 30 or more minutes in line for refreshments at a football game. Let's be a lot more pro-active. I would love to help out the First Missionary Baptist of God In Holiness Church of Olive Mount....but darn it....move your *** and get me a damn CocaCola ...quick!!! And get that elephant dung smell off the damn thing. Even whiskey can't kill it!

All that said, Coke is making a fortune off us. Repeat. Coke is making a fortune off us. Why are we not leaning on them hard for help with the logistics? Running out of drinks by half-time? Uhhhh, tell them that you are about to turn the fountains over to open suppliers.....you may not get Coke for a bout a week and a half....but before you know it there are trucks outside and friendly guys in Coke outfits delivering new cannisters of syrup every 5 and a half minutes. And someone in a tie is testing the CO2 distribution in drinks. And by the way....check your distribution lines. THEY TASTE LIKE MOLD AND MILDEW. All that needs to happen is someone with highly allergic conditions to go into anaphalactic shock and the smoking guns are....the mold and mildew in the lines. Trust me, it has occured in other situations.

In Short.....DEMAND MORE OF OUR SUPPLIERS!!!!!! BRYAN???? Those hot dogs are pretty disgusting. What can YOU do to better the hot dog product?

Pizza? Let's see who has the best product...for the best price? Not happy...open it up again.

Bathrooms. Uhhhh, next subject. It works, but it looks like the parish jail for New Orleans 40 years ago.

Bulldog Club. Do you have a table or tent for newly blessed MSU fans to come and join the fold? With the pre-game atmosphere OR the post game atmosphere (i.e.-Alabama or Ole Miss games) we probably could have added a lot of new members and contributors.

Yeah, somebody has to work a little overtime. Well guess what, in the public sector we do it every damn day. Just sayin.

What's the problem some of you have about the M-state logo? Explain what you don't like about it. I think it's a pretty cool logo. It's been around for long enough that we have some brand recognition with it. I don't mind it at all.

I think the point of this thread is that you might want to think about changing some things -- especially the small, quick, cheap, but EXTREMELY annoying stuff.

By the way, the stank stadium cups have spread from DWS to Dudy Noble, too. Got one on Super Bulldog Weekend*.

*Which reminds me, when we get a marketing person, I would vote that they change the name of SBW to something more clever and catchy, but maybe that's just me.
