We ended up making reservations for this Saturday evening at The Bazaar by Jose Andreas. Looking at logistics, it’s a little less than a two hour drive from York PA. Thd address is 1100 Pennsylvania Ave. should I consider driving to somewhere (Silver Spring MD?) and taking mass transit from there or will there be parking nearby? If I do mass transit, how much time should I budget?

I'm a big fan of not using mass transit in DC especially on the weekend. DC is not a bad city to drive. You will likely find plenty of parking in the area. Just look for any number of Colonial parking garages. As long as there is no big event you should have no problem driving and parking.

This restaurant is in the new Waldorf Astoria (formerly Trump Hotel; recall Andreas and Trump had a falling out as Andreas was supposed to have a restaurant in the Trump Hotel but bailed when he decided he couldn't associate his brand with him) - so, valet.

I’m trying to plan a couples dinner with a friend. He and his wife live in Bedford VA and we are in York PA. Looking at some place neutral, DC seems like the best area to target. What makes this tricky is that my buddy really gets excited about fine dining, but my wife doesn’t like super fancy with sauces or too many ingredients on the plate. Also, my buddy eats seafood but no other meat and my wife will never eat seafood. So, we need some place that has top end ingredients and technique, but not too fancy… and someolace that has plenty of seafood and vegetarian options, but also more meat and potatoes. Bonus points if they have a Michelin star or James beard award. I’ve been browsing but thought I’d ask the all knowing board.
McDonalds is pretty simple and doesn't serve seafood. Anyway, I don't of ant restaurants that serve Hamburger Helper.
