I've really been looking forward to it and now I'm for sure going to see it in the theater. Thanks!

I might be the only male (he/him) in my age group that never had interest in the first film. Probably won't have any interest in this one either.
I don’t have any “interest” in those types of films myself, but Cruise’s films these days are never disappointing when I do catch them. Cruise is an exacting producer and it shows. Hollywood could do worse.

He fired 21 Pilots (and everyone else working on the soundtrack) without warning. Then got Gaga to do an original song. Somewhat interested in this and I usually like Cruise…

"Top Gun: Maverick" director Joseph Kosinski is sharing why original female cast members from "Top Gun" were not invited to participate in the film's sequel.

In an interview with "Insider," Kosinski said he did not consider bringing back Kelly McGills, who played the love interest of Tom Cruise's character, "Maverick" Mitchell and Meg Ryan, who played the wife of Nick "Goose" Bradshaw (played by Anthony Edwards).

"Those weren't stories that we were throwing around," he said.

The new movie touches on the 1986 blockbuster with the return of original cast member Val Kilmer as Tom "Iceman" Kazansky a new storyline featuring Maverick training Goose's son, "Rooster" Bradshaw, portrayed by Miles Teller.

"I didn't want every storyline to always be looking backwards," Kosinski explained. "It was important to introduce some new characters."

Forgot James Doohan (Mr. Scott), who was also a pilot in the Canadian armed forces and known for being a bit crazy.

Jimmy Stewart was an Air Force general--and I think did his own flying in Strategic Air Command. Kris Kristopherson flew helicopters. Bob Barker was a a naval aviator, though he did not see action. There are likely more.

many more, but not the ones people usually think of

I just saw Top Gun Maverick this morning and it was very entertaining. Lots of good flight action plus enough non action story line to give it some depth. I would have to admit that Tom Cruise has immense presence and is the consummate movie star. I’d also question why Jennifer Connelly didn’t make it further in the bracket poll.

So how is the sweat level? Asking for me.
