LSU certainly got hammered here. What's the point in even looking at RPI and ISR, if your not going to use them in the selection process? This defies logic. Also, I disagree with "breaking down" a season, because smaller sampling of the same data just introduces more error to said data, and allows the introduction of MANY personal biases, depending on how you break it down. Looking at the season as a whole, removing the emotion of it, and LSU should have been in. Everything equal, we should be discussing whether or not Ole Miss deserved a bid. They were rightly on the bubble. LSU should have been the next team in after us, if not before us, IMO.
If it were Stony Brook in LSU's shoes, and they were ranked higher than ~10 teams with at-large bids in both RPI and ISR, I'd think they got 17'ed as well. Leaving out the giant that mathematically should be in is just crazy. IF they were ~35RPI, I wouldn't be arguing. At 24RPI, the backlash of this has only JUST begun....
