McIlroy with an amazing final round but tje Masters is Scheffler’s to lose. Feel bad for Smith. Pretty entertaining final round

Yeah, Smith was charging, but his round fell apart when he put it in the water.

McIlroy with a 64 in the final round. That will win most tournaments. Alas, a combo of being too far behind to start, and Scheffler not imploding, means he'll likely finish in 2nd place.

Scheffler hasn't had a great round, but he's recovered well, and not made any huge mistakes. At this point (4 holes to go), he'd have to fall apart to lose his 4-stroke lead.

Why do you feel the need to crap on other people's enthusiasms?
Because I hate golf. The snobbery, the “Tiger“ jock sniffing, the country clubism, the pseudo-athleticism, the golf clothes, the cutting down of trees that golfers favor, the entire scene.

I can’t imagine opening threads or posting on a topic that I “hate” just to be an ahole to those that clearly enjoy it…but I guess that’s just me.

You don't sound very coordinated, Lorax.

On one camera shot through the pines with the green and flag in the background, the close up of two massive pines at the edge of the fairway revealed what looked like woven copper wire that you’d see on a lightning rod. Surely they can’t have lightning rods on every tree? Is it just on prominent trees? Anyone else notice this or know any history?
Great question. I saw them on 13 yesterday when I walked the back 9 and I didn't stop long enough to look all the way up the tree to see what they might be attached to. They're not copper, they're more like a metal rope. If I'm on the course again next year, I'll have to check that out further.

Yeah, it was metal rope, but I believe they used copper for this metal rope back in the day. It tarnishes pretty quickly

I was impressed with the coverage that CBS provided showing just how hilly the course really is, and they did a great job showing the undulations of the greens. In prior years I don't recall seeing the course being portrayed this way, especially the early holes. Did not know holes1-5 where that up and down. JMO

Pseudo athleticism? Let’s see you play and walk 5 straight days under the conditions these players played at and see how you crawl up the 18th on the 5th day.

these players make it look easy. You would shoot 120 on the first day and go up from there if you had any physical or mental strength left not to quit.

you should be more pissed at posers like the 3 Yankees, Boone,Stanton and gallo, who are paid millions to be put in a situation like that last night in the 9th. Can’t even get a ball in play. That ticks me off more than cbs coverage of tiger, who by the way is the 2nd best golfer ever.

Interesting that Rory was so close to shooting 62-63 and really putting pressure on but more amazing to hear that scheffler won 90 out of 140 junior tournaments. He is so used to winning that it didn’t affect him. 4 putt on 18 was the only time he felt nerves it seems.

I would bet money that ESPN was pissed that Tiger played! I bet the Thurs-Fri ratings were through the roof.

Right on, Raz! Phils lost 4-1 yesterday and a listener called in to post game with the theory…it’s the managers fault he didn’t get them into better shape in Spring Training..😂😂. After three games, playing at home, no travel lag. They’re $20 million players and this idiot thinks the Phil’s played poorly because they were tired! Now walking those hills at Augusta, under pressure, in the colder, windy conditions on Friday, Saturday, sleeping (not) on lead…..it takes a good athlete to do that.

Funny thing..Tiger has his lovers and haters. However, even the haters love to watch Tiger so they can “hate” how much attention he gets.😭

So you hate something, but then jump into a thread discussing something you hate? Thank goodness people here now know this.

Tiger carried the game on his back for over 20 years, brought popularity and prize money increases, and inspired a huge number of people of all races to take up the game.

Whatever attention he gets, he deserves.

The thing about Tiger - he is the perfect athlete for media to focus on.

When he is good (at golf or life), the media builds him up like a deity.
When he is bad (at golf or life), the media tears him down like he is Satan himself.

Right now, he is on an upswing, so everything he does is glorified.
Soon enough, he will do something that will push the media to start tearing him down.
Maybe my recollection isn't so good any more since I turn 70 in July, but I don't ever recall the media "tearing down" Tiger. My recollection is they glorify his accomplishments when he's playing great and make excuses for him when he's not and when is involved in all of the "indiscretions" mentioned in Liontown's post.

Yeah no one played golf during those 20 years.

Other than 16, there isn't a flat walk on that course. It's not just the golf that can be difficult there.

I don't care for basketball, yet I have yet to post in a BB thread

That's only because you, apparently, are comfortable with yourself, your life, your interests, and your tastes and, therefore, are equally comfortable with others having and enjoying theirs. If only you would put in the time and effort to develop your insecurities and resentments, I'm sure you could become a fine troll...
