"The allegations, according to the Daily News, claim Clemens was 28 when he first had contact with McCready. She was 15 when he noticed her at a Fort Myers, Fla., bar while out with his Red Sox teammates, according to the Daily News." from ESPN.com

That doesn't sound good.

Who uses this kind of language but a lawyer?

Exactly how does a 15-year old girl (not yet famous) become a close personal friend with a 28-year old MLB All-Star she met in a bar if nothing's going on? Of course, this does begin to give us some clues as to why she f***ed her life up so bad as an adult.

WTF is up with the names of your sons? The first, second and fourth are bad enough, but Kacy is a girls name!

p.s. Clemens is a douche. But in retrospect, I think they might have made a good couple.

I always wished Mike Piazza would've whipped his *** when he threw that broken bat at him. Of course, it was Piazza and I seriously have to question his "hetero" street credentials.

McNamee is a piece of **** and whether Clemens banged her or not, its irrelevant. It wont even be allowed in court. McNamee needs his *** whipped.

Clemens is as well. He just makes it that much worse with his continued arrogance and vanity. He's a self absorbed, self promoting douchebag that deserves whatever ill fate comes his way. If you don't think Clemens is guilty then you are just stupid.

but him bangin a country music chick has nothing to do with this and wont be allowed in court. Its dirty *** lawyer ********. Clemens didnt ask for all this. I dont blame him for trying to get away with it. You havent seen alot of the other guys in the report that claim innocense from it being dragged before Congress.

I'm not a big fan of lawyers, and this is just another example as to why. Throwing that **** in there has nothing to do with the case

Clemens is suing for defamation of his character. The whole issue of this case is Clemens's character. And let's not forget that when he started banging her she wasn't a country music chick (nobody had ever heard of her then) and SHE WAS FIFTEEN YEARS OLD! Now banging a 15-year old chick when you're 15 years old is great. But doing it when you're 28 is pretty sad.

it shows what kind of character he has (or doesn't have) and his propensity to lie and cheat to get what he wants. Plus the whole deal of a 28 year old man befriending a 15 year old girl is just creepy.. and again speaks to Clemens' character.

actually it gets back to whether they have the proof that Clemens took HGH and roids. The lawyer on ESPN said no way it gets in as did my friend who's a lawyer. He seemed to think they are trying to get Roger to drop the case by releasing all this in the media because it wont be allowed in court

The case at hand is about defamation of Clemens' character. In order for Roger to prove damages his attorneys have to establish his character, which is called into question by an affair with a 15 year old while he was 28.

You're right that this all began due to allegation of HGH/roid use, but that isn't the main issue in this case.

but its his baseball character, not personal. McNamee has harmed his baseball reputation by saying he took roids, and this is what the case is going to be about.

if Roger Clemons, in a defamation suit, tries to present himself as an upstanding baseball player then this affair, as it relates to credibility, is certainly relevent. Further if he lied about it it carries additional weight. Is it a dirty tactic meant to embarass him? yes. However, is it fair game in the defense of a defamamation suit? yes.

Only a baseball player/coach would be able to rationalize a 28 year old having ANY type of relationship with a 15 year old. This is the reason why its tough for me to give a 17 about our baseball team from year to year. In my experiences our baseball players have less class than any of our other athletes. Who can honestly feel sorry for Roger !17! Clemens? The dude made his money and THEN he got busted. His problem was he couldnt fade into the sunset (like Palmero). All those assclowns know they're guilty only the egomaniacs would fight it. Hope he gets his arm in shape for the prison leagues.

Read a book sometime. Or at least watch Matlock or something. Defamation of his "baseball character"? You've got to be kidding me. Clemens is suing McNamee for defaming his personal character. There's no such thing as "baseball character" you moron.

was an ole boy from Neshoba county I met at the fair one time who was dating her. His name was Billy, but not McKnight. But he was trying to make it as a singer in Nashville. Bet it's the same guy who is the father of her kid.

McCready is going to be supoenaed?

"The issue in Roger's suit against McNamee is Roger's reputation and how it has been damaged," Emery said, according to the Daily News. "If it's proved that he's a philanderer, his reputation is already damaged. When you sue for defamation, you put your whole reputation in the community at issue. Anything is fair game, including his claim of sanctimonious purity. We would cross-examine him and other witnesses who might impact on his alleged behavior. We would probably subpoena her and witnesses who knew [of the relationship]. He's a 'family man' -- he implies that. It's about what his damages are. All is fair game."

"If the case heads to trial and is not dismissed, as we feel it should be, we will be calling [McCready] as a witness," Emery added.

Just shut the 17 up, Peaches.

aGAIN, i am telling you what other lawyers said yesterday you stupid 17'er. Just because he subpoena's her, doesnt mean she will be allowed. He can subpoena 100,000 people, but he has to show just cause as to why they should testify.

I agree with you that it won't be permissible in the case (pretty much everyone on TV that has any expertise on the subject agrees with this, but I guess since Coach said it, everyone must act like it's the dumbest thing ever), but I think Clemens deserves every bit of this. If a 28 year old, wildly successful baseball player is sleeping with a 15 year old girl, then the scumbag deserves all of the shame and public scrutiny that can possibly be brought upon him.
