I still say that NIL and the portal have been more of an equalizer in college sports, than the "rich will get richer".

There is a sizable chunk of people who want to confirm their own cynical beliefs about these types of things. It's like they are working overtime to ruin it for everybody else.
Funny thing is that there is a lot of conflicting stories out there about Skenes' actual NIL deals. I know this much, if LSU didn't have the team they had returning with the coaching staff they had, he wouldn't have gone there, money or not. While it certainly isn't about the 'glory of such and such university' anymore with many of these players, it's very much about winning and getting to the next level. NIL is very much secondary to that.
Same this year with Braden Montgomery. Saying aTm bought him is overly cynical and simplistic, and a major talking point by the mouth-breathers. Fact is, without that trainer/coach guy there that he knows, he likely does not go to aTm.
