I count this as the biggest game to date because of what it means in the standings and for the Tournament. Let's Go!!

Njie is such a liability on offense. His shot gets blocked more than a 5’7 guy.

Rutgers killing us in the paint…16-9. If we don’t get hot from three, this one could get ugly.

We can’t make anything in the paint tonight and we can’t shoot 3s either. And we have no defense against RU’s big man. This looks like a 20 point loss in the making. Where is Funk tonight? We need his offense.

The frustrating thing about this team is they get behind and they seem to panic, don't play patiently and start chucking up 3s without moving the ball. Having no presence @ the 5 position also hurts this team.
One dimensional offense will do that, I guess.

True, but they seem to rim the 3 point line, chucking up and the others don't crash the boards. Rebounding is effort, rebounding is aggressiveness, rebounding is position, rebounding is work. This team lacks consistency in regard to rebounding. John Harrar was a great example of rebounding excellence.

Just another horrific offensive outing. There is absolutely no excuse for this team to shoot this poorly.

Let’s just be honest….they sucked at every aspect of the game tonight and anybody that says otherwise is simply lying.

I was beaten up by my PSU buddies when I sent a text a couple weeks ago - SSDY.
Same Poop Different Year.
If they don’t make a 3, it’s over. No inside game.
And, I’m not a smart basketball guy. 😆

OL
Man, they need to at least give Damian Lilley a little run. The kid has size (6'10") and some beef. He needs a trial by fire to learn. I don't see this team in the NCAA, too one dimensional. My line up would be: Pickett, Lundy, Mahaffey, Cam Wynter and Lilley (let Lilley start & give him the first 4 minutes). I'd bring Funk, Njie, Dread and Cary off the bench.

PSU BB is like “Groundhog’s Day” same old same old, game after game, year after year.
Not exactly. We have fewer turnovers and we make more free throws this year, at least when we get to the line. And in some games we can make threes. We miss John Harrah immensely and unless we can pull some miracle out of the portal for next season - it’s same old again. We lose a lot of seniors.

Are you kidding me, 45 pts?

Let’s just shoot from mid court and try to grab the long rebounds all night long!

Well, I mean they play some games very well, they pull a few upsets and get everyone (well, not everyone) excited about the Dance possibilities and then it’s time for “ok, next year”.

Beating Illinois in Champaign, wow. Beating Indiana, very very nice. But now losing by 20 to Rutgers…..ouch ouch ouch.

You would think they would at least try zone once. Maybe they have and I missed it but it can’t be any worse than how poorly they fair night in and night out against other teams bigs. And as mentioned by others, always in foul trouble early giving opponent bonus and double bonus early. When they are on, fun to watch! When they are off, we get games like tonight. No in between.

I’ve watched just about every game this year and I know they ran a zone one time and got a steal….the announcers commented about them switching it up and confusing the other team. Other than that, they haven’t played it at all. They also never press. I can’t understand why a smaller team wouldn’t press, at least to change things up. We just refuse to do anything different game after game.

Losing to a top 10 team at their place after they lost a game they shouldn't have, was to be expected. SHooting was terrible but Rutgres D is exceptional. I know most people think Rutgres and automatically assume a win, but they definitely shouldnt, they are the 2nd best team in the Big.

I also would have liked to seen some zone on D and would like to try and push tempo more to get transition 3's and make the other teams big's run the floor more, especially when Mahaffey is in.

I don't really assume a win against Rutgers. They're a better BB program than Penn State.

"Losing to a top 10 team at their place"

Just to clarify, who was that Top 10 team? Were you referring to Rutgers?
