Absolutely. We'll still have a good SOS with those conference games.

Get on the phone tomorrow and cancel the VT and Clemson games for 2025 and schedule Furman and Newberry. It does zero good to play a hard schedule.

It appears this year they are taking the simpleton's route by going with the team with the larger number in the W column.

Who knows what they'll say is more important next year (or going forward) - what they claim to value seems to change depending on their desired outcome.

You think Ray is going to lift a finger to get us in to next year’s Playoff? He didn’t lift a finger to get us in to this year’s.

To be clear, Ray is good at 2/3 of his job. He keeps coaches happy and he fundraises.

The last 1/3 is to dig in to the politics with the league and the NCAA and the media. Something, it appears, Ray thinks is beneath him. It keeps screwing us.

He takes whatever the league office gives him and never fights for us to have a better position. It happens with scheduling, it happened with the fake merry-go-round of cross-division rivalries, you name it.

He should have had a media strategy ready to go the moment the Clemson game ended. Prepared remarks for Beamer during the post game interview, planted questions from a friendly media source during the post game press conference, social media, the works.

Then he should have had Beamer on the big tv shows making the positive case for, followed by Dawn on the next hour talking about why us over the other teams.

Our media department should have been in the ear of every talking head on tv and national radio as to why our case was the right one.

If the committee was going to pull the BS they did tonight, they should have been forced to do it in the light of day so everyone could see it. Instead they get to pretend like it’s all above board.

I noticed that when the Reece asked the Commissioner about the ranking of the SEC schools, he answered why Miami was where they are instead. That wasn’t an accident. He can’t justify it in any way the public would accept.

Seriously why are we playing Miami in 2026 and 2027 given the playoffs and importance of won/loss record over SOS?

When we scheduled them back in 2019, seemed like a bad move, to me.

Was it not easy to to see this coming? That they would be getting good again right about when we would be playing them?

If we want to play Miami, lets cancel the games, schedule Western Carolina and see them in the playoffs, LOL

SEC rules state that each member's football team must schedule at least one OOC P4 (or ND) opponent annually.

Several good things happened this year that made it feel like Christmas came early.

1) Ray announced that he was retiring.
2) Trump won the election.
3) Carolina beats Clemson and finishes with a decent record. Post season game pending.

Ray was one of those guys who retired and came back to double dip. He wasn’t in it to win it.
