Just finished the Netflix Documentary and while I didn't find any of their theories that believable, I learned some new information that helped me put together another theory of my own. For anyone that's followed the documentary, let me know if you find it believable.

To me, the most fascinating thing that I heard was that there was cargo that went onto the plane just before takeoff without being scanned. In searching for the source of that cargo, I found a website that listed the cargo as belonging to the freight forwarding company who is partnered with Motorola. The 2200+ kgs of electronics were walkie talkies from Motorola, and approximately 250 kgs were lithium ion batteries. The cargo wasn't scanned because this is a routine shipment from Motorola Malaysia to Beijing.

In searching for more details about lithium ion batteries and planes, I found a site that said that Lithium Ion batteries are safe when properly packaged. But, over 1,000 fires have occurred on planes from improper storage. The first website stated that the packaging for the walkie talkies should have been safe for air transit from the manufacturer.

My theory is that somehow the batteries weren't properly packaged and because of the volume of batteries caused a massive explosion that took out the communications system and then ultimately the plane. This would mean that the plane went down in the South China Sea, not the Indian Ocean, and the infamously corrupt Malaysian Government was paid off to cover it up. This is also supported by the images the lady found showing wreckage in the South China Sea and the oil rig worker who claimed to have spotted the plane on fire.

This would mean that wreckage from the plane was found and later distributed throughout the Indian Ocean as part of this cover-uo or possibly the wreckage that was found came from another plane that had been dismantled.

So, if this were true, why would they want to cover it up.

Primarily, Motorola is a massive employer in Malaysia, so it would be a huge black eye for them to be responsible for this tragedy. It also makes sense that the government would want to protect them from liability that could reach into the billions if they did something especially dumb like bulk shipping the batteries. It definitely wouldn't hurt if there were kickbacks for turning a blind eye, since the government is known for corruption.

The one major flaw that I could find in my theory was the Inmarsat satellite data pinging the plane in the Indian Ocean. Until I found this interesting quote about strategic partnerships on Inmarsat's website.

"Strategic partnerships
We are working with a number of strategic partner companies, world leaders in their own sectors, to bring the power of satellite connectivity to their solutions. Our current strategic partnerships include the Athena consortium, Motorola for satellite-enabled public safety solutions, Addvalue for space-to-space communications and AnsuR for innovation in connectivity to Unmanned Aviation Systems."

So, the one piece of data that was said to be conclusively taking MH370 out of the South China Sea, came from a company that is partnered with the same company that rolled 500 lbs of lithium ion batteries onto MH370 minutes before takeoff???

Based on everything that we know of MH370, the last communication was at 1:19 AM as they entered Vietnamese airspace over the South China Sea, then the beacon disappears. Without Inmarsat's data, the logical explanation is the plane caught fire or exploded and crashed in that general area (since there were no Maydays).

So, if you're looking for a conspiracy theory to believe, is it more likely the plane did a 180, avoided military radar through six countries, flew directly over a military base, and continued on unnoticed for 6 hours before running out of fuel; or that a corrupt government, major employer, and their partner screwed up massively and covered it up to prevent paying 259 wrongful death claims?

A very interesting theory to say the least. You just might be right.

Pilot was exonerated in the final report by Malaysian authorities

Well, you say the govt is corrupt so you can't trust their final report.

In any event, the most likely scenario is probably that the plane was depressurized, went off course and eventually ran out of fuel and crashed.

Assuming you can trust Malaysian govt. (or any govt. for that matter). Lots of things pointing in his direction - kinda like Murdaugh.

Not to mention family, friends, co-workers + common sense. By all accounts, he was a great person.

People love conspiracies....so on it goes.

The pilot theory is the least conspiratorial.

How many folks commit suicide and then you hear from family and friends "we had no idea"?

How many folks commit suicide by taking 200+ other lives with them, without a hint of that kind of evil? There's always some evidence.

However, friends of Zaharie Shah claimed the pilot was "lonely and sad" and was believed to be "clinically depressed," The Atlantic reported.

Besides, a 737 exploding in the air, as posited by the OP, would product a large debris field.
